We 've heard great things about Ransom 's over the years from friends in the area. We were across the street playing mini golf and decided to give it a try. There didn 't seem to be a lot of customers at 8:00 Friday night. One other couple on patio with us, a table of maybe 12-14 inside, maybe handful of others scattered. There were intriguing items on the menu, some of which we tried. One was fried cauliflower. Since they had fried buffalo tenders, we asked them to put the cauliflower in the buffalo sauce. My parents recently dined at this restaurant, and my mom had a bowl of potato soup that contained a piece of plastic. When she brought this to the attention of the waitress, the waitress said she would check with someone "in the back," but ultimately, the staff did nothing to address the issue. No one approached them to discuss it or offer an apology. Did they think my mom had intentionally placed the plastic in her soup to get a free meal? We had an outstanding dining experience, all thanks to our server, Hunter! This steakhouse truly stands out. From the moment we entered, the atmosphere radiated elegance and warmth. The restaurant has a clean and pleasant atmosphere, with very friendly and attentive staff. The food is decent, although a bit pricey. Unfortunately, the drinking water was poor; I had to ask for extra lemons to make it drinkable. The live music was interesting but too loud, and the performer didn't know the lyrics to a few songs. He talked loudly enough that it was difficult to hear him through the microphone. We would have enjoyed our dinner more if we could have had a conversation without competing with his singing. I was passing through Montgomery and decided to stop by this restaurant. The customer service was outstanding. We both ordered the chicken fried steak, and it was excellent. It was well-seasoned, and we really enjoyed the cream gravy. The sweet potato fries, baked potato, and corn were all good. The fried okra was tasty but slightly undercooked. The rolls were fantastic!
If you're searching for Kirby's, this isn't the spot for you. However, this place is fantastic, and I really enjoy the taste of their local meat. The portion sizes are generous, and the prices are reasonable. They also have an excellent selection of beers. If you’re a local, this is exactly the kind of place we should be supporting!
