Walking into the Ratskeller (no reservation) and you know its a nice place. The wait staff was friendly and patient with our poor German language skills. The menus are simple and easy to follow. I ordered the most expensive thing on the menu at 23.50 euros and I'm so glad I did. The steak was perfect, served in a portwein sauce and mushrooms. My wife ordered the pork medaillons...a very traditional german dish cooked perfectly. The place is very nice and cozy...we wanted to stay all night. When in Bad Kissingen eat here at least once...then come again and stay for dessert.
We had dinner with my husband there! The menu has a lot of delicious traditional German dishes and good choice of Bvarian beer! We ordered 3 kinds of meat that you can cook yourself on the hot small oven and great sausages made of wild pork! Next day we had business lunch and dinner with 20 colleagues! The service was great, the waiters were hospitable and quick! All the dishes were very delicious and fresh!
I totally misunderstood the menu,and ordered, what I thought was a mixed grill. It was a mixed grill,but of the cook it yourself variety. We had steak,pork and chicken, served on a hot rock ( Pierre chaud in French) Good quality meat,very flavourful, and you couldn't blame the chef for overcooking the meat!. A good selection of bottled and draught beer made for an enjoyable evening!
We had dinner in the Ratskeller during an April trip to BK.Loved the ambiance, the food, and the service was second to none. We went on a Thursday night, during the off season, so the restuarant was not crowded We're looking forward to our visit back to BK in April 2013, and we will definitely visit the Ratskeller again.

We wanted to try a different food for dinner we went to ratskeller nice place near shops. The food is great and the beer also good. We ordered steak and pork with noodles with gravy best dinner outside the hotel. We really enjoy when in bad kissingen dont forget to eat at ratskeller.
