Zum Abschluss der Woche bei unserer Tochter und ihrer Familie wollten wir nochmals essen gehen. Die Wahl fiel auf den Ratskeller, weil uns einige Einheimische den Besuch dort empfohlen hatten. Der Ratskeller bespielt seit vielen Jahren erfolgreich die mittlerweile nicht mehr ganz so kleine Nische der hochqualitativen aber bodenständigen, regionalen Küche.Meist bekommt man spontan keinen Platz, aber diesmal hatten wir Glück. We were there for goose dinner before Christmas. The appetizer was very delicious. I rarely ate such a good salad. Soup was good. Gans: we had ordered the Polish and got the German. However, we were confronted with the bill and the Polish were calculated, as we did not even know that it was the German goose. The skin was crispy, but the meat as a whole was too dry. The restaurant has a lovely outdoor setting which made for a pleasant meal on a very warm night. It was asparagus season so there were many such dishes on the menu. A small green salad to start was very good. The white asparagus with a green sauce and potatoes was also quite good, as was the added Weiner Schnitzel that was an option. Blood sausage with potato pancakes were good, as was a salad accompanied by warm goat cheese. A very nice meal.
Avons mangé sous une tonnelle en plastique dans un nuage de mouches. Après avoir commandé une pinte de bière et un black Angus 300g saignant, le serveur me ramène une demi pinte et un black Angus 200g bien cuit. Devant son erreur il me propose de changer de plat, ce que je refuse car maintenant que c'est cuit on ne va pas le jeter. La viande était très bonne, c'est le seul souvenir que je veux emporter.
Von außen sieht der Ratskeller eher traditionell und bieder aus. Das Essen ist eine Überraschung: Moderne frische Interpretationen ohne Schnörkel. Z.B. gebratener Pulpo auf Mango mit Chili-Mayonnaise oder Blutwurst auf Rösti mit Apfelkompott und rotem Pfeffer, beides als Vorspeise.Der Service könnte etwas aufmerksamer sein.
