Raviz - Reserva de mesa

We found ourselves in Guildford at the end of our mini-break and needed dinner. We wandered down Jeffries Passage and found Raviz. What a GEM of a restaurant. Honestly, the most gorgeous curries and Indian food we've ever had. Not bog-standard British versions of curries we've all eaten so many times over the years, but intricate, thoughtful flavours, absolute treat for the senses, so very delicious; with lots of lovely complimentary touches like the palette cleanser that came pre-dessert. Plus, we loved the decor front of house, so many lovely touches. If there was a tweak needed behind the scenes, perhaps the toilets needed a bit of an upgrade, and we did end up waiting longer than we thou...

We went on 6th December for a group of 10 people. Great service and good food IF you like your curries hot. The not spicy options are medium and above. Great for a group that like spice. We had a few non chilli eaters in our group that it didn't work for. We called the day before and asked what was the mildest for a chilli intolerance and they suggested we order butter chicken but there was certainly still plenty of chilli (capsaicin) in the dish. The full groups orders were placed in advance. The staff were very nice about it and offered an alternative fish curry but that was also very spicy. Great venue but it’s not suitable for chilli intolerance.

The food at this restaurant is absolutely amazing, and the staff's hospitality is top-notch. Even on a casual Thursday evening, I felt like I had been properly wined and dined. I would highly recommend this place to vegetarians, as the selection may not be extensive but the quality is exceptional.

Food here is really worth a visit very different from the run of the mill Indian restaurant. Service was excellent too. Will definitely be back lost a star on atmosphere only because the restaurant was cold when we arrived.
