I visited Red Barn to pick up some vegan treats for my son's birthday. The restaurant is conveniently located by the train station and serves lunch, catering specifically to commuters in the morning. The service was very friendly, although prices were a bit high, which is expected in a town by the river. I tried the grilled cheese on challah bread, which was huge and delicious. The cheese was perfectly sharp and melty, and the addition of tomatoes and jalapenos added bursts of flavor. My wife enjoyed her veggie scramble, which was loaded with vegetables. While the vegan options were limited, I tried the vegan cupcake and vegan carrot cake, which were both dense but flavorful with well-execut...

Living in Irvington, we were excited to have a bakery in our neighborhood that focuses on using organic, locally sourced ingredients. We often visit for coffee, quiche, and their amazing scones. However, our most recent experience at the bakery left us disappointed when we decided to purchase a loaf of their 'rustic bread.' Despite being told it was made fresh that morning, the bread we brought home was rock hard, bland, and covered in flour. It was so difficult to eat that we ended up throwing it away. It was a letdown to find that the bread did not live up to the bakery's reputation for freshness and flavor. The worst part was feeling like we had been misled about the product we were buyin...
Small bakery in Irvington that serves cakes, pastries, muffins, breakfast/brunch, as well as coffee and smoothies. I had their breakfast scramble with eggs, cheddar, spinach, tomatoes, breakfast potatoes, with strawberries on the side. I also had a smoothie. The scramble was hot and melded well, with good flavor. The smoothie was a bright pick-me-up. I didn't have any pastries or cakes, but they all looked great! All types--key lime pie, pumpkin seed muffins, savory pastries, gluten free pastries, pies. Service was fast. I took my items to go, but there is indoor and outdoor seating. Right next to the train station if you want to grab something quickly before hopping the train to the city.
For a place that serves breakfast and bills themselves as gluten free and vegan friendly, their breakfast options were all egg based. I was told my only options were sweets. I ended up getting a side of home fries and a few slices of avocado.I also got a gf/vegan espresso brownie to-go cause I wanted to give their baked goods a shot, and unfortunately it was genuinely the driest brownie I have ever had in my life and it didn’t have much flavor. It was nearly impossible to eat as it just crumbled into dust immediately. For $10 that was a total bummer. On the plus side, the person at the counter was very nice and my Omni husband enjoyed his omelet. Reserva una mesa ahora
I picked up three carrot cake cupcakes and one chocolate brownie expresso cupcake and all were Vegan. I was so excited to serve them on Easter because my daughter is vegan and I wanted to give her something delicious and special. We were all so disappointed. The cupcakes look beautiful and the frosting was delicious but all the cupcakes were so dry. I spent over 30 dollars on 4 cupcakes and they went into the trash. That was so disappointing.

The place is very welcoming and the products are very good, unfortunately, however, the seating space is cold and there is no heating and it is not pleasant to eat in the cold, especially when it is very cold outside. I don't recommend it in winter.
I recently tried the most delicious avocado toast I have ever had and will ever have! I highly recommend this dish. I devoured the entire toast in less than 5 minutes! (My 10-year-old insisted on leaving this review because he loves it so much.) Reserva una mesa ahora
