We spent a lovely weekend here in March 19 with our son 1 yr old puppy. The landlord regulars alike were very friendly chatty helpful. We never took our puppy into the bar because she likes to much attention it we kept getting told we could. The food was fresh good size portions they offered a lovely breakfast also which set you up for a day of walking around wales was very good value for money(the breakfast was included). We had 2 single beds a double bed in a good sized room with tea, coffee hot chocolate to drink. The location was just perfect for what we wanted to do now we have another puppy we will definitely be taking her to wales soon staying here again
This restaurant is not only a wonderful pub, but also has excellent owners, Neil and Liv, who have it running smoothly. It's a lively, cheerful place where you can enjoy a delicious meal, great atmosphere, and a warm welcome. We visited for entertainment last night and returned for Sunday lunch today. The portions are generous, the local produce is fresh and cooked perfectly, and the presentation is meticulous. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes and the quality is impressive. We came to this establishment for drinks after dining elsewhere, and ended up staying for many drinks as we were staying at the Black Lion (no longer a pub). The bartender was extremely friendly, as were the delightful locals, and we had a very enjoyable evening! This pub is a traditional local's pub, so if you're looking for a gastropub, you may want to go elsewhere. However, if you're seeking lively conversation and a welcoming atmosphere, you'll feel right at home. I'm not certain if they offer food.
The home-cooked food at this restaurant was excellent! I had no problem booking a table for 7 people. The staff were attentive and there was a large selection on the menu with reasonable prices. Our food arrived promptly and the portion sizes were generous. The dishes were tasty and clearly made with care at home. Unfortunately, we were too full for dessert, but I will definitely save room for it on my next visit.

A large group of us had Sunday lunch at the Red Lion yesterday and we were very pleasantly surprised! The new owners have not been there long and yet they seem to have nailed it! Good quality food, really well cooked, and great desert options too. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back again
Wales has a tradition of a Sunday carvery and we couldn't find anywhere else to go in this remote part of the country so we were glad that we were welcomed here, even though we had the unusual accent! Really enjoyed the carvery on our walk over to Strata Florida and it was great value for money too!
This is my second visit to this establishment. The evening meal was really nice (I had Lasagne) and recommend it. The breakfast was very nice (I had the Full Welsh). The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. Definitely recommend The Red Lion.
We visited on a busy Eisteddfod Bont weekend. We were told that it was under new management. The bar service was good and I enjoyed a great pint of Creamflow. Diolch.

Sunday was great value for money good selection of local source meat. Desert was home cooked plentyful. Warm welcome from bar staff locals.
