I visited this restaurant last weekend for a late dinner after a girls' trip to Lake Almanor. Their last seating was at 8 PM, but we arrived with plenty of time, and I'm so glad we did. This family-run establishment had the friendliest staff, all of whom were very attentive to our drink and food orders. We started with lemon drops from the bar and shared a variety of dishes: beet salad (our favorite!), mushroom ravioli, shrimp pesto pasta, and beef stew with gnocchi. We have been dining at the Red Onion for many years, even visiting their previous location in Chester. This is a genuine family-run establishment, and it's common to see the owners, a husband and wife team, working diligently behind the scenes almost every night. The food is consistently delicious, fresh, and one-of-a-kind. The service is excellent as well, even during busy times. Dining on their outdoor patio with a view of the lake while the sun sets creates a truly spectacular experience.
I don't dine out often these days, but when a friend gifted me a card for the RO, I thought, why not give it a try? The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the drinks I had were excellent. I've returned twice with friends visiting from out of town, and both times were enjoyable. One of them is coming back in July with his family, and we're planning to spend the last evening of their trip at the RO.

I highly recommend this restaurant! The dishes I tried, especially the Carrot Cake and Roasted Beets with Burrata, were exceptional. The food was delightful, and the service was impeccable. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing dinner. Overall, a fantastic dining experience!

This place was awesome! Last minute they were able to accommodate my party of 11. Everyone was extremely pleased with their meals. They make some excellent cocktails as well. We all liked the fact that they use local, grass fed beef and local produce.
Very very small menu waited 4 years to eat their I finely did a week ago. And I was stunned I have no idea what the big fuss is about that place. Very nice place don't get me wrong but I'll be honest I was disappointed
The restaurant offers an American menu with relatively small portion sizes. The fried side dishes, such as onion rings, potato pancakes, and calamari, were quite enjoyable; however, the main entrees were just average.
The best steak I have tasted! It melted in my mouth like butter. Place is neat and staff is friendly. We were their last client for that night but they didn't make us feel hurried. Budget friendly too.

I had the Ravioli and it was so good that we had to come back so we could all have it. Wonderful food, great service and I look forward to the next time we are? I can eat here.
