This is one of my favorite places in Rochester to eat! It is in my top 3 and probably my number 1. I always send my out of town friends, family, and customers here. The atmosphere is amazing and it always has live music, and not like a loud band, good acoustic musicians that set a great mood, I especially love when Clay Fulton or Jeremy jewel play! I gave 3 stars because the atmosphere is nice. We were there on a Saturday with great live music. However, there was an hour wait, in which we asked to order from the chalkboard inviting us to order an appetizer while we waited. Hostess said we couldn't. When we pointed out the sign, she went to ask if it was okay. This is where I warn you that advertised prices do not match what you will be charged. Also, the online menu doesn't match the menu in the store. We were looking forward to ordering the pecan pie, but it wasn't available. Staying in the area while one of us is having follow-up care at Mayo split across two weeks. The scallop saffron special was spectacular and my friend never finishes her plate, but she did that one. I had the butternut squash and it was equally superb. Cocktails were done perfectly and being later on a Sat night the bartender handled both our food and cocktails. We very much appreciated him working with us, answering our questions and assisting us with navigating a few food restrictions. We shared stories of the transplant anniversary and all the highs and lows that came with it. When Nicky found out what we were celebrating, she surprised us with a crème brûlée topped with a candle, postponing the anniversary cake we had waiting at home. The food was exceptional, each bite better than the last.
I have to give The Redwood Room a 5-star review because it truly deserves it. We are excited to return and have finally found our favorite restaurant in Rochester after three years of living here. We only wish we hadn't waited so long to discover this gem!

Welcomed right away! We have been trying to go to the Redwood room for years although every time we arrive they are on a 1.5-2 hour wait. This time, 20-25 min! So glad we stuck around! First timers it was absolutely delicious!!! We ordered the carne asada appetizer, pork medallion entree with apple cider sauce scallops for dinner. No crumbs left behind. Awesome ambiance as well- front row to watch Orchid Jane play and just felt like true date night. Staff is very friendly! Can’t wait to go back!
My husband and I rarely get date nights, so when we had the chance we decided to try out the redwood room. The ambiance is beautiful with live music playing in the background that isn’t too loud. Our waitress Nikki was absolutely amazing she seemed very excited and passionate about her job! She frequently checked in and was knowledgeable about the menu. Lastly, the food was amazing. I got the shrimp risotto and my husband got the apple cider pork. 10/10 would go again!
We had a fantastic dining experience on a Friday evening at this restaurant. The food was delicious and there was live music playing. We didn't have reservations, so we had to wait about 40 minutes for a table to become available. However, we were able to quickly get seats at the bar instead. The bread that came with our meal was fresh and had a wonderfully crunchy crust.
Delicious, delicious, delicious. Best scallops I've had in my entire life!! Free bread that was delectable. Well mixed, proportioned drinks. My favourite restaurant in Rochester by far! Will definitely be returning!!
