We arrived at the refuge at the end of the afternoon to participate in the yoga class organized on site at sunset and with a breathtaking view of the Bauges.! We then dine all together around an excellent meal prepared by Clara and Mathilde. It's fresh, local, tasty, ... than happiness! After a good night in the dormitory, we were able to take breakfast on the terrace, buy sheep cheese made on site (the refuge is accoled to an alp) and descend into the valley. Disconnection guaranteed in an idyllic setting. The shelter is accessible by car so we will return even for a simple meal! Thanks to Clara, Mathilde and Biboul for their warm welcome and their talent in cuisine in particular! Very fast!
What better than a savoyard melt at 1800 meters altitude! We spent one afternoon a night at the shelter. The place is clean, well organized. There is a restaurant room in a separate building, a shelter part in the back of the house. The shelter is ready for a farm that makes a great show for children! On the evening menu (on reservation): soup, fondue savoyarde, tartiflette, charcuterie, dessert. Everything is done on site and with local products. The shelter is very clean (toilets outside) and very quiet. I recommend the sunrise on the mountains in the morning!
The Thuile refuge is a small country haven in which we spent a great evening with Clara the manager. The meal was delicious, from the entrance to the dessert! Clara is adorable, interesting and passionate about her job, it's nice to see guardians like her! The dorm is clean, and we slept very well. Hiking is beautiful, especially those on the ridges. A faultless one, and a high-quality report to the top! We will return and recommend without hesitation! Thanks again to Clara for her welcome and hospitality! Nicolas Inès
