We stayed in Annecy, the day before we had to fly out of Geneva, back to US. This was our last meal in France to cap our amazing vacation. And what an end it was! The drive in itself out of Annecy, is a highlight in itself. You literally drive till you hit a mountain. And then at the end you are rewarded by a perfect meal. Evan, James and the team does a very good job of making you welcome and providing you with a great experience. The highlights were the reblochonette and the steak of course. You can watch Evan cook your steak at the fireplace. Best to call ahead for a reservation. Don't have to call months early. Call on the day of. Definitely read up on and take notes from the directions on their website. That was the most helpful for us. We could not get it to map on our navigation. Even if you use google, it tells you that you are at destination, even when you have to keep going for at least half mile to get to the real destination. The road almost looks like it is going to stop. Restaurant is on your right side with the parking below. If you are ever in the Annecy area, this should be a definite stop.

After a long walk today we headed to the restaurant expecting hearty rural food as per reviews on trip advisor. The setting was magnificent, as was listening to the constant ringing of cow bells throughout our meal. I had the mushroom tart which was small and had little flavour. It was accompanied by a salad of lettuce leaves and sundried tomatoes, certainly not a hearty meal. My husband had duck breast with mashed potato and a few mangetout. He said the flavour was good.I had the chocolate pudding which was not good and my husband's coffee was disappointing. The setting made it a great experience, but the food was not what other reviews led us to expect.

After 13 times visiting Annecy, I'd never thought about going here for food but although the drive up can leave you doubting your navigation the destination is simply epic.Super friendly staff with perfect English in the most stunning setting in the Alps. Then the food. Simple but so well cooked and the steak is probably the freshest and most enjoyable meal I've had. There is no better place to eat in the Annecy region. Miss this opportunity and regret it. Best of all, you pay for the food and service, not the view. 3 course meal, the best steak and fine wine for less than 40 euros.
