Update as of today. Food was okay, eggs not great but edible. Service not as well as when first came. Waitress did not ask if everything was okay or if we needed any more coffee or nothing else. Noticed other waitress asked table next to ours how theirmeal was and if anything more they needed. Sharp contrast from my first visit. Place was not even that crowded so servicecould have been better. Meal pricy also. Received better services elsewhere, not sure when or if coming back, but maybe it wasjust an off day for staff. _________ Today for the first time I went to this deli ???? and we had the best breakfast in a longtime from a restaurant. I hadn't been to Rein's in a while, so it was awesome to stop in on 04/02/2023. Staff seated us right away. As we looked over the menu, stre-made while pickles arrived at the table. These are so much better than any jarred pickles I've tried. Our order was taken as soon as we were ready. I opted for the steamed (warm) beef brisket and a side of sweet potato fries. Both items were great. The meats are served on your choice of breads with lettuce, onions, and tomatoes. Note: gluten free bread is available for an extra fee; I requested mine without bread. My co-diner got the potato pancakes, which are served with applesauce. Gravy can be ordered for the side, if you prefer savory over sweet top...
Growing up behind the counter of my Uncle?s deli in Brookline, MA and now living on the North shore without any really great delis around, I get the occasional itch for some good deli comfort food. Rein?s New York Style Deli in Vernon, CT (exit 65 off84W) has just what the doctor ordered! If you?re craving is corned beef or pastrami, knishes or kasha, maybe some stuffedcabbage? They have all the delicious recipes, brines and flavors of your youth that will remind you of your bubbie?s kitchen???? And when you leave you can take home all your favorites for those that couldn?t make the ride! Our favorite stop on theway to CT and NYC. Did I mention all the pickles you can eat on the table?
I am not sure what happened, but this restaurant seems to have lost its reputation as a New York style deli. I ordered a half pastrami sandwich, which used to be generously stuffed and filling. However, what I received today was a small finger sandwich with only 4 tough strips of pastrami. Even if I had ordered a whole sandwich, it would still have been lacking in portion size. I was also disappointed to feel sick with an upset stomach the evening after my lunch and the next day.

My husband's family has been coming here for years and I was finally able to see it for myself! We were driving through and stopped for lunch! The Matzo ball soup, Reuben's, and knish were incredible! I also ordered takeout from the counter so we could bring home some bagels, rugelachs, and cookies!

Love a good deli and this place never disappoints. Corned Beef and Brisket where amazing and the pickles are hard to beat. I typically do to go but if you have time dining in is great also. I almost never review but this place deserves it!

Always a favorite stop when passing thru Hartford. French toast was just right, thick and done just enough. Note busy time starts about 11am but the line moves quick.
Great place all the classics. It never disappoints, always consistent. A wide menu to choose from. A must stop for the discerning palette.
