Republic is a great restaurant. I hadn’t visited since before the pandemic, but my wife and I recently went there to celebrate a belated birthday for a friend. We enjoyed the Branzino, which was excellent. Since my wife and I typically avoid most seafood, it was a pleasant surprise to find something appealing on the menu. My friend raves about their oyster happy hour and believes their oysters surpass those at Old Ebbitt Grill, which is one of my personal favorites. While the prices can be a bit steep overall, the quality of the food is top-notch. I also remember they had some delicious hot chocolate options during the hot chocolate crawl back in 2019. We would love to visit this place again...
I absolutely love this place! The happy hour is fantastic, and I can't get enough of the oysters! The staff is incredibly friendly, and even though I was misguided about the happy hour times, they still honored the happy hour prices for my food, which I thought was very kind. Ian is a really great guy, too!
Republic is fantastic! We enjoyed a wonderfully diverse selection of dishes, including grilled oysters, salmon, and a chicken sandwich, along with some delicious cocktails. Everything was incredible, and the atmosphere was vibrant and lively.
Wonderful Place for relaxing and dining, excellent food and great costumer service, historic place and very clean and friendly, secure area,I can recommend for whole family, take time, because lots people visit

Tasty food, but overpriced. That's my general feel of republic. The appetizers and bar food outshine the entrees. The ambience is wonderful and the service is sufficient without being overbearing.
Wonderful bar, delicious food, and fantastic people. It's a pity that it had to close down. Rest in peace, Republic. You will be missed.

Great place to meet friends and chat on the patio. The ordering online wasn't easy but the food was good.
