I have been a loyal customer for many years. Over the past 2 years I slowly witness the standards dropping. During my last visit in July, I was surprised that the lunch menu was not available despite website stating otherwise (Monday to Saturday). I had the truffle pizza. The pizza arrived without truffle. My mother had the frutti de mare pasta, she specifically ordered this because she wanted to have prawns. The pasta arrived without prawns. I told the waitress of that and she replied sorry we do not have prawns anymore because we used all of them yesterday and we don 't have it in stock . Couldn 't she tell us at the moment of ordering rather than after serving us and us noticing it?? Ingredients missing or not, both the pizza and the pasta were very low quality and not tasty. When I told the waitress about the fact that I was going to write a review, she brought the manager. Only compensation offered was either a free drink or desert or a 4 euros discount on our bill. Two dishes ordered, both missing the main ingredient and the only compensation you offer us is this? Shameful. We refused the above mentioned, paid the full price and promised a review so here it is.
An superb wine taster menu! Five courses perfectly matched with equally amazing wines. Impeccable service as always. We have eaten at Republic itself many times but tried the Lounge and Bar, the sister restaurant, because this menu looked and was so good. Thank you to all the team.
