"Not worth the trip. You can eat much better in any restaurant in Pézenas. The beef roti was only bones, the dessert had a rotten apple slice, and no finesse at all. But the Abbey was magnificent."

I visited the Abbaye restaurant some years ago at which time the service was terribly slow but friendly and one never had the feeling of being ignored. This month a further visit was arranged. Sadly after waiting for well over half an hour and, what is worse, watching three tables of later arrivals having their orders taken, we walked out. One disorganised waitress allowed to take the orders of forty diners is appalling. We have lived in France for approaching thirty years and do not have any problems with taking a leisurely lunch. It is however normal for staff to know what they are doing and to perhaps take drinks orders fairly quickly and so on. Perhaps as the only restaurant open on days...

My friend and I stopped here for lunch after visiting the Abby and were so pleased that we did. The food was fresh and seasonal (we had the pork entree) rich in flavor and evocative of the region. We were especially pleased to have a delicious grape juice with our meal, since we were not drinking alcohol. The staff was very halpful and attentive. We believe the meal, atmosphere and service were well worth the price (I should note that I could not find that fine a meal for the same price in New York). Definitely worth a visit.

We had a nice enough lunch here with our two young children but for the price I think that better options are available in nearby Pezenas. The offering for children in particular is quite limited and was not enjoyed by either of my children (one of whom will eat most things). The food for is obviously sourced locally but the preparation is quite basic (which would be fine if it was reflected in the price, but it is not). Service was prompt and efficient.

Walked around the stunning Abbey and vinyard. Leave 1 hour for this and then headed to the restaurant for lunch time. Beautiful view. Service fantastic. English spoken also. Food was brilliant. Delicious. Home made and with ingeredients from the estate. I had a beautiful pork terine and should rod lamb. Wine from the vinyard. Kids had a menu enfants of fancy steak hache, potatoes, chicken and courgettes. Desserts seasonal and excellent.
