Visited here for dinner and were quickly welcomed and sitting. Service was friendly and efficient and we enjoyed a great meal. The menu offers a range of regional dishes as well as steaks for those who want to stay with a more universal choice. The food was delicious and well presented and certainly plentiful, I chose the Bavarian Carpacio as an appetizer that was delicious, but huge and followed by another similar great main dish. With a selection of beers, wines and soft drinks, the menu should offer something for everyone. With coffee finished the bill was only over 70 Euro for 2 for starters, nets, drinks and coffee. Unfortunately, the earlier portions meant that we did not get as far as the Dessert menu. Located in the city opposite the parking lot, this offers a good choice for those who want to familiarize themselves with local food.
Beautiful, traditional Bavarian restaurant in a building at the end of the main part of Oberstaufen. Open during low season after all cable cars have stopped running, and open until late at night to most other restaurants in Oberstaufen seem to close at 19:00. The staff are very professional and welcoming and yes, there are dirndls and probably leather pants when that is what you are looking for. You could take your grandma here and she would be happy, and you could take foreigners and they would feel like they saw something Bavarian. Vegetarians find a few dishes to choose from (which is unusual in Bavaria) and some of the dishes can be made vegetarian when you ask. The prices are good; a main and a drink will give you 15 25 euros depending on what you choose, and the plates are a very decent size.
We came here on a snowy evening in October after a recommendation from a local. We had a great time, the service was cheerful and very friendly, the food was local, very tasty and fresh and the price for the entire dinner with our kids was very reasonable. The interior is very much Bavarian style and the place is very popular with the locals. Try the Spätzle, they are really nice. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Oberstaufen.
We chose this restaurant for its Centra location in the city. The service was very good and the food we had both the normal and great Rump Steak and was very impressed, it was very delicately cooked to perfection the restaurant its self was very traditional and beautifully decorated in a typical Baverian style.
