Restaurant Bar Glacier Le Grand Cafe de l'Atlantique

Chose to have dinner here after we've had a look at what else was offered in town (there really aren't many restaurants to choose from) and my partner was after a seafood platter. Can't really remember my meal (had a beef steak with fries) since I kept staring at a huge plate of seafood on the table which included a local barnacle (Pouce-pied). The steak was okay, and the seafood had the potential to be good to, if only it was grilled. Not sure why the French serve seafood platter as a cold dish as it just doesn't taste the same when served cold. Although it has to be said that the 1-person serving would be enough for 2 people. Overall good service and reasonably good value for money.

When it comes to seafood, its the same as with a steak its only good if its grilled and hot. Therefore I was disappointed to learn the French have apparently never heard of grilled seafood, they only serve it cold and stale, which is a damn waste in my opinion. Still eating a large mixed seafood platter here was a very unique experience due to the large variety of exotic seafoods on offer. The bread and mustard sauce were great if only the seafood was grilled and I would be in heaven.

We spent 2 nights half board in the hotel and ate dinner twice in the restaurant. The staff was very helpful and competent and excellently copied with each request. The organization/management of the restaurant during full and under COVID-19 constraints was excellent. We were in the appendix, 2nd floor and you need a good pair of knees to climb the 46 levels each time. The receptionist immediately offered to carry luggage for us to the 2nd floor, first rate service.

The Hôtel Atlantique is on the quayside at Belle Île, so you can watch the ferries come go. We had lunch there: dos de merlu (hake) on a bed of mashed potatoes with Provençale style vegetables. It was all absolutely delicious, with a glass of chablis. The dessert a tarte aux fruits, as far as I remember, was OK, but not as amazing.

We stayed at Hotel Atlantique for 3 nights and checked the local restaurants and the Vauban closed in Easter initially book for dinner on 2 nights of our stay. We were very pleased with the food, wine, service and value for money and the sea view of the port.

the staff is smiling, breakfast is in good invoice with the view of the port, it is beautiful. a local is available for bicycles, with plugs to recharge batteries (preview the electric bike on beautiful island). It was perfect, I think we'll be back.

First visit to the island and stayed here in the tongue. As others have commented, a good middle class hotel. I chose a cheaper room in the appendix that was good for one, but would have been tight for a few. Next time you'd have a look at the port.

Had a good impression from previous visit but this time was truly disappointed : the 'poisson du jour ' was tasteless and ridiculously meagre . Having been served by the landlady in person the staff can 't be blamed.

Very well located hotel. has the descent of the box. warm welcome. functional room, clean, well furnished, bathroom very convenient. a rich breakfast and fresh products. recommended and return very quickly.

Excellent food, friendly service, very pleasant atmosphere. 3 course menu and a glass of wine approx. 25-30 € per head. Very much.
