We visited the Restaurant de la Foret on our way back from Château de Chantilly. They did not speak any English at all and my husband can speak some basic French. It was a real struggle to choose something from the menu. We managed to make some choices and the food was of a very high standard. Our son enjoyed his children's meal, which included a meat & salad starter. I had a lovely glass of wine and thoroughly enjoyed my creme brulee dessert. We would probably not visit again unless we learnt some more French as it was quite hard to communicate, however the staff did try their best to help us.My only complaint would be that we went in and requested a table and were told it would be 5 minute...
We had 2 delicious meals in the pretty dining room at la Foret. The prix fixe menus are an excellent value as they include very good house wines. Also have the no wine option. And it is not just a few items, 10 starters, 10 mains and you guessed it 10 desserts are available. Some of the standouts were the frogs legs, lamb, and fois gras. There also is ala carte.The staff is very helpful and attentive. The hostess is gracious. Highly recommend.
We ate on two occasions here on a recent golfing trip. The restaurant has a pleasant terrace either for a pre-dinner drink or to eat outside on a warm evening. We ate off the €39.50 menu which offered a good choice and for an extra €3 included apparently unlimited house wine. They provided a round table for the 9 of us and service was friendly and good
This was so good. I would recommend the pork fillets with the mushrooms and apples. I had the steak and it was good too. We went for lunch after seeing the Chantilly. And before we went to Senlis an ancient city for the 3rd century. They serve it with bread. For $28 you get an entree and dessert. They speak a little English. And are so nice.

Dislike: Nothing. Liked: We couldn't speak French very well, and our hostess, Elizabeth, couldn't speak English very well - but, she got out a dictionary and we began to communicate. Her patience and courteous manner, coupled with the finest of meals, made this a memorial evening.
Bit pricey on the a la carte, but the 4 course set meal with three bottles of wine is good value. We had loads of different meals, all were excellent. The cheese platter is fantastic. The langustienes (however it's spelt) were very tasty..
We arrived by motorbike and thanks to unrelenting rain halfway into our journey, we were soaked to the skin... Our waitress accommodated us close to the heater - a blessing, and we enjoyed a fabulously memorable Anniversary lunch...
Have eaten here on numerous occasions over the past 45 years and have always found the food to be delicious and all the staff to be welcoming and very helpful.
