You want the real thing? That’s the Gem in the Geneva area. Authentic, consistent top quality food and good service. I have never seen a tourist there but a great mix of locals. This restaurant used to be the Cafe des Voyageurs at Eaux-Vive train station. My take is the riz-de-veau. They frequently have fresh Geneva-lake perches and having frequented this restaurant very regularly i can assure that all plates are delicious. They usually propose specific menues based on what they could just get very fresh from the market. Last but not least; excellent value for money.
before cafe du voyageur at gare des Eaux-Vives, the restaurant has kept its high quality. no show-off, always packaged (reservation important and closed, best quality price ratio in city, fab service and affordable quality wines. When it comes to eating, you will quickly understand. what I mean from frogs, over riz-de-Vau (sweet brot) in a straw sauce, over to the first choice bark meat; they will enjoy thoroughly. lunch menus are very affordable and vary every day to the high standard of restaurants.
the cafe is under new management, and we had not visited. we are so happy that we have done it. stephane, the manager, is charming. the kitchen is operated by the former chef of the renowned restaurant in the parc des Eaux-Vives. the car was varied, with a seasonal influence. the wee were very good price. it was great.
Wir gingen zum vorherigen Restaurant (Les Voyageurs) und dieses ist ziemlich ähnlich. War nett, den Besitzer und einige der alten Kellner zu sehen.Dies ist ein typischer Genfer Ort, nichts Luxus, aber sehr gutes Essen und eine schöne Atmosphäre. Ich freue mich darauf, wieder dorthin zu fahren

we used to be in the previous restaurant (les voyageurs) and this is quite similar. was nice to see the owner and some of the old waiters. this is a typical Genevois place, nothing luxury, but very good eating, and a beautiful atmosphere....Many thanks for the return
the chef was formerly with the very popular cafe of voyageurs on the avenue de la gare of the Eaux-Vives. the facility of this restaurant reminds of the previous restaurant. I was not impressed by the entree foie gras and the filets of the perches,...too dry.
One of the best beurres maison that I've tasted on my steak and a good steak as well. Filets de perches sometimes from the lake but always noted if not and Aline makes sure that if imported they're still excellent. Aline herself is a charming...host.
A sure bet, we've been coming here for years. Delicious and generous dishes, friendly staff! Desserts… let’s not even talk about them.
