We had a reservation at the restaurant for 4 people with a table near the water. When we arrived, the first waiter showed us a table at a corner of the restaurant, at the opposite side of the water. When we asked if no table...at the front is available, the answer was “nope”…. Then a second waiter arrived: we explained the situation. His answer was: “ everybody wants to be near the water, I have these tables that I need to sell, you can understand”. Actually no, we cannot understand being treated so badly… maybe because we were only tourists and did not speak German? Anyway, to be avoided, there is much better and friendlier options in town
This restaurant was attached to our hotel, and we were really pleased about that. We almost never eat dinner at our lodgings, but this was worth the exception. Excellent service, nice ambiance overlooking the waterways, and the food was really well prepared. We had the...venison (spectacular) and the wild boar (excellent) and a poppy seed cake for dessert. The venison was a bit pricey, but well worth it. The other menu items were quite reasonable, and breakfast the next morning was delightful.
The hot chocolate was watery, and the server could have been more helpful. I wanted to know the size of an appetizer, and his answer was that it was appetizer sized . The wild swine meat was a bit bland. However the atmosphere was pleasant, noise...level good for conversations, the pear-veggies were delicious. We won 't be coming again, as there are a lot of other eating establishments, and this one wasn 't worth the money, in my opinion.
