We've lived locally for nearly twenty years, and the Engel is the place we always take visitors - family, friends or business. This is a family run business right on the main street, nothing pretentious here - people go here to eat , not make pictures with their food . Decor is German gemütlichkeit lite, service is extremely efficient , but friendly .The food is solid , copious & tasty . Between us we usually have at least one of the following :Schweinehaxen ( crispy roast pork hocks ) , Käsespätzle ( local eggs noodles baked over with cheese and onions , or Schwabenteller - local speciality of tender pork with bratkartoffel ( fried potatoes with bacon ) , and other stuff - a large plate gro...
Habe mit 25 Personen meinen 60. Geburtstag gefeiert. Die Griesklöschensuppe und der Wintersalat mit lauwarmem Ziegenkäse waren excellent. Ich schwärme noch heute von den Schweinelendchen, dem kleinen Rinderfilet und den gratinierten Lammlachsen mit div. Zutaten.Ein Dessert mit dunklem und hellem Mousse mit Eis rundeten das sehr gute Essen ab.Der gute Service hat zudem zu einer rundum gelungenen Geburtstagsfeier beitgetragen.
Katarina the ‘Geschäftsführerin’ Manager is an excellent attentive host for a nice evening out. Outstanding service with a friendly smile surely will everyone delight. The Schwäbian food is very good, added with the special attention makes this restaurant a worthwhile place to go for your dinner. Certainly merits a recommendation.

Was in the angel for a night. Was completely satisfied and slept wonderful. The food at the restaurant was very good and the beer delicious and well cooled. I recommend the grill plate. Especially the staff and the boss are very nice and open for a few nice words. Come back when it comes. Thank you.
Here for business. Just left Berlin and wanted a nice place to eat and relax. Not clear what I had eaten- do not speak German- but found the wait staff friendly and extremely helpful. Everything was fresh and a pleasure to eat. Would recommend to anyone looking atmosphere and great food.
Das Essen ist gut, allerdings scheint die Geschäftsführerin bei größeren Gruppen überfordert zu sein und wird sehr unfreundlich. Wenn ich essen gehe, muss alles stimmen, Gastfreundlichkeit gehört dazu. Ich werde andere Restaurants bevorzugen.
Das Restaurant ist, sagen wir mal, antiquiert. Man merkt dem Interieur den Charme vergangener Tage an. ... aber die Gaststätte war rappel-voll. Teils durch Hotelgäste und zum größten Teil einheimische Gäste.
