Wir fahren als Familie jetzt schon über 20 Jahre nach St Anton am Arlberg und sind nach wie vor davon überzeugt, dass es keinen besseren Platz für die Winterferien gibt. Zu unseren Aufenthalten gehörte immer der Besuch des Ferwall ( manchmal auch Verwall geschrieben ) Restaurants. Man kommt tagsüber zu Fuß ( ca. 50 Minuten), per Langlauf: ca 30 Minuten und seit neuestem auch mit einem Bus hinter zu dem Restaurant......ein wunderbarer Weg, egal wie man sich entscheidet. Pferdekutsche ist auch eine Möglichkeit ( besser tagsüber als Abends, da man mehr sieht. Guter Kaffe, Kuchen, Brotzeit..... Abend kann man das Restaurant ab 17:00 auch mit dem Auto erreichen. We went to Verwall on the 30 Dec 2011 and enjoyed it so much we returned for the 31 Dec 2011 and celebrate the turn of the year there. The Germans have a word Gemuetlichkeit that transcends translation into English. It means cozy, familial, familiar,...friendly, warm, relaxing, blissful all rolled into one. This place defines it. The little cottage is reached via a 4km twisty road from the Mooserkreuz bus stop. Given the severe conditions, we took a taxi but in better weather a walk is advisable. Its location is as picturesque as imaginable. The restaurant only has around six tables so reservations are advisable. The food is hearty and excellent, a combination of regional dishes and wild gam...
This is about 6km from St Anton. There are a number of ways to get there, you can walk...a bit far, catch a taxi €30 each way or sleigh €130 (4 people) one way. Build the cost of getting there and back into the price...and it is quite expensive. You must book as there are only about 5 tables and when we visited it was booked out 4 days in advance. The menu is only in German but the owner will explain the menu in detail for you if you cant read German. The food was good but not exceptional, the atmosphere was good very intimate and traditional. We took a sleigh there, this was very difficult to book as the owner of the service does not speak any English and we do not speak any German, see if...
Eigentlich gehörte das Ferwall stets zu unseren Must-Visits, wenn wir in St. Anton waren. In idyllischer Umgebung gelegen. Gute traditionelle Küche und ein "cosy" Gastraum mit alter Holzvertäfelung, Kachelofen und Candlelight waren die Erkennungsmerkmale.In der Wintersaison 2015/2016 leider wegen Besitzerwechsel und Umbau geschlossen.
Na een wandeling van 1,5 uur naar het stuwmeer, kwamen we hier toevallig terecht. De frisdrank is van een lokaal merk, maar prima van smaak.De tosti is prijzig, maar zeer smakelijk met o.a. augurk en paprika er tussen.Je kan er vanuit Sankt Anton ook met de bus (lijn 6) komen.
