Restaurant Galicia

I dined here with family friends for Christmas Day dinner. The menu consisted of a special menu for the Christmas holiday and the regular menu. The Xmas menu consisted of soup, salad, main dish and dessert plate starting around €26. Two in our party ordered the steak with mushroom sauce, which they enjoyed, my friend ordered the duck with crispy skin and these dishes from the Xmas special menu were served with veggies or a potato side. I ordered the steak with pepper sauce (18CHF) off the regular menu which came with potato croquettes and a salad. My steak was very tender and had very good taste. The atmosphere was nice as the entire restaurant was decorated for the Xmas holiday season. The service was good, but slightly over-worked due to the constant and full restaurant guests. There is also a small banquet room and a larger more open air dining experience room. Overall, the meals with beverages costs roughly €100 and it was a good choice. I have previously eaten at this restaurant a few time before and I would recommend for lunch or dinner. A popular place for the more mature locals and entire families. There is a large outside patio seating area in good weather and the staff is friendly. The restrooms were generally clean.

Coming from far away this was already the second visit to this Viernheim highlight. Being attracted by the choices of lunch menus, especially also offering vegan options, we dropped in and enjoyed:Vegetable soup: well, somehow we were expecting a rather clear soup but it turned out as a creme soup. Not totally sure whether it was vegan though.More transparency was provided with the oven-baked vegetables. It was delicious and it was difficult to eat everything up.At the end, we received pistachio icecream; again the same story, not sure whether it was vegan or not.Maybe one should not be a nit-pick, especially because the Galicia usually offers very good cuisine and also a huge variety of choices.Just the atmosphere - as in other Viernheim premises - is the one of the 1980's. some refurbishment would be nice.

Not much bad to say about this place. Very friendly and fast service, good food ample selection of beer and wine. We all liked the complimentary salad served, just the right size). Restrooms are a bit inconveniently located

The food was delicious, well presented, and I managed to have some modifications to the menu, according to my gluten allergy
