Auch alteingessene Restaurants sollten sich nicht darauf verlassen, dass alle ihre Gerichte gefallen, und ihr Servicepersonal bei Kritik nicht auf überhebliches Abschmettern trainieren. Wenn Pfifferlinge unter einer tomatig-papriken Sauce begraben werden, ein pikanter Spiess nur pfeffrig ist, das Bratenfleisch stellenweise sehr kauintensiv, der gemischte Salat wirklich lieblos zubereitet und die Pommes nach nichts schmecken, dann sollte auch ein Kellner sich das erst mal anhören, bevor Sätze wie "Hundertmal serviert, niemand..." oder "Das muss man schon zu Beginn sagen" (als hätten wir nicht zahlen wollen)... fallen. Wir kamen mit unserer Kritik übrigens nur bis zum Spiess, da war der Kellne...
We were in Mayrhofen for the Christmas week and visited this restaurant on Christmas Eve. The reservation was made in advance by email and firstly I must thank Elisabeth for her quick and helpful replies to my emails. On arrival we were warmly greeted and shown to a small traditional style dining room. There was a set menu for Christmas Eve and a limited a la carte menu. We ordered steaks from the a la carte menu and we were both thrilled when they arrived. The presentation was beautiful and they tasted amazing as did both deserts we had. We would highly recommend this restaurant for a lovely traditional setting with friendly, helpful staff.
Zum ersten male besuchten wir ( 2 Erwachsene, 1 Kind ) Mayrhofen .Da wir nun seit 4 Tage hier sind und heute Abend bereits zum 3. Male in die neue Post gehen, sprechen wir einfach von unserem Stammrestaurant. Unsere Tochter möchte auch nichts anderes mehr ;)Hatten 1 x ein italienisches Restaurant im Ort probiert, war aber nicht so gemütlich.Man kann toll draußen sitzen , Kellner ist sehr kompetent, freundlich, schnell . Einfach klasse. Speisen sind nicht gerade günstig aber es schmeckt einfach alles frisch und super lecker. Ambiente klasse, dicke Blumen an den Fenstern und schöne Details .Traditionsgasthof ist halt Inhabergeführt.
On the last day of our holiday we sampled what seemed to be the only coffee and cake shop left in Mayrhofen that we’d not already tried. This one was part of a four star hotel so inevitably this was reflected in the prices. We both had cakes- they all seemed to be priced the same at 3.6 euro and both were delicious. The only problem were the number of sparrows that had found their way into the cafe and were flying around. From the reaction of the waiting staff this seemed to be a common albeit unhealthy occurrence.

Wir haben gestern Abend das Restaurant des Gasthof Neue Post in Mayrhofen besucht und waren sehr begeistert - die Küche legt viel Wert auf hochwertige Produkte größtenteils aus eigener Land- und Forstwirtschaft oder anderen ausgewiesen Höfen im Zillertal! Die Zubereitung war hervorragend! Das Ambiente im Restaurant war sehr gemütlich und traditionell! Besonders hervorheben möchten wir auch die gute Weinauswahl! Gerne kommen wir wieder!
Hallo. Heut Abend gab's rostbraten mit frischen pfifferlingen und serviettenknödeln. Das Fleisch war zart,Soße und Pilze gut. Leider waren die knödel latschig und der Salat nix aufregendes. ( ein grüner Salat mit der Portion fertigkraut,kidneys,Mais und Nudelsalat mit Mayo. Den spar ich mir beim nächsten mal. Der hauptgang hat trotz matschigen knödel trotzdem geschmeckt und die Bedienung war sehr nett. Mfg
We were warmly welcomed and had impeccable service here. Food was mostly traditional and very generous, quality seemed good and very tasty but we were new to these dishes. Great English spoken and service was warm, friendly and professional from Denes. Good wine recommendations and good value wines. I’ll happily go back next visit.
Siamo andati qui la prima sera e siamo rimasti stupiti, non tanto dalla qualità del cibo, che in Austria è sempre ottima, ma tanto dai prezzi bassi e onesti. In due, prendendo entrambi un secondo, birra e vino e un dolce cela siamo cavata con poco più di trenta euro. Mi sembra un ottimo presupposto.

Just our favorite restaurant in Mayrhofen for dinner. We have never booked and they have always accommodated us without problems and the food and experience is always top-class. We eat here 4 times and I'm sure we're back.
