I work in Widnau on a project and have eaten here several times for lunch. The sandwiches are very good. You can get the menu in English, which is very nice. It seems that most of the waiting staff speak English and are very... helpful. I'll be here for more months and I'm glad to eat here often. My favourite is the tomato soul (tomato, ham, cheese and onion) and costs about 9.50 pieces for a half sandwich, which is still a nice sandwich for lunch. If you order the whole sandwich, you are better hungry as it is big. I also had the Thon Soul (Tuna Sandwich), again only one half, and it was also a very good sandwich. Stop having a sandwich when you're in Widnau.
Last Sunday I was in the HB again and I was served by Ferdy. He is friendly but the guests had to point out to him that a table that was not occupied had to be cleared. Just walking around with your tablet to look busy isn't enough. The fact that Ferdy doesn't get a plan of who, where and what also comes into play. I got a good tip to always pay straight away. The one star for service only refers to the person in question, everyone else, especially John and Janette, are extremely careful, hard-working and absolutely trustworthy.
That evening when the restaurant was closed at my hotel. Very warm and welcoming atmosphere with excellent service. I had a burger who was very good, like the wine. The sandwiches looked very tempting when massive. Not a huge menu, but perfect enough. I would (and probably) return.
You wouldn't expect so many vegan options in such a traditional restaurant. Your signature dish is a hot sandwich that is a local specialty, in many variants. But their falafel and green bowl are also a good option. Everything is clearly marked, certainly worth a try.

One of the most beautiful memories of our lives: here we learned that we would have a little girl... and we told the other children that there would be 5 of us! The place was a fantastic setting!!!

Great place to hang out and lunch with friends. Vegi Soul is deliciously recommended for large groups as they have plenty of space on the terrace.
