Restaurant Hotel Krone

So on arrival we are given a very small room because there was a wedding on and the guests needed the larger rooms ?! We were promised on our second night we could be moved to the best room which was then available. The small room (with a tiny shower room) was suffocatingly hot but after asking twice we were given a fan. I think the hotel should leave one permanently there as it was a very different experience to our second night. There is an odd thing with double sets of doors to this room that makes you feel as if you're in a sealed unit.The "best" room was airy, spacious and had a large bathroom. Both rooms were clean with reasonable decor. Both rooms were very noisy because the hotel is very central. Breakfast was very good with good coffee and lovely fresh fruit. There was a good variety of cereals, breads and meats /cheeses. We ate in the restaurant one night and enjoyed the food; the service was very efficient and it was reasonably priced. I wouldn't rush to stay here again. It was a bit big, a bit busy, a bit impersonal and very noisy.

You can't go wrong with anything on the menu at the Krone. We've been there countless times for lunch and dinner and they have the best Wienerschnitzels and the fish is delicious. The gulasch soup and other local delicacies are available and very delicious. The different soups and salads are fresh and delectable. The staff are friendly and attentive. Will go back again soon.

... one of our favorite Austrian dishes but seldom found as good as in this restaurant (a lot op cripsy onions on top of very soft meat)...huge portions as is the custom in Austria... Also an excellent soup...I forgot the name...A nice place to eat when in Mondsee as can be seen by the many locals who were in the restaurant

The restaurant has a large capacity and offers some traditional local foods. Just be prepared for a quite long times to be served - especially during the holiday season. Staff tries hard but it seems the waiters are overloaded.

the garden is nice to sit and you can enjoy reasonably priced food -the menu has a large variation of local dishes and the service will help you to choose
