This restaurant is the finest in Quebec, among if not the best in Canada, and not to be missed for those who enjoy dining in a tasteful and lovely restaurant. It is quiet and refined but not stuffy. The table settings are beautiful and the seating is most comfortable.They offer two menu choices, and options within each menu, beginning at US$100, a bargain compared to the 3 star Michelin places, which are double or more. Effectivement l'accueil et le service sous l'œil attentif de Mme Leclerc est impeccable. À certains égards un peu pompeux. Magnifique décor épuré des plats spéciaux pour chaque mets.Comme la loi du "palais" n'est pas la même pour tous ce n'est pas toujours heureux les associations qui nous sont servis. Les fleurs c'est joli mais bon ?? pas toujours et pas trop.Je dois dire que je n'ai jamais mangé un aussi bon foie gras et le flétan était exceptionnel mais quand on prends le menu dégustation lorsqu'on arrive à la longe de cerf malheureusement l'appétit n'y est plus pour apprécier.Leurs fromages exceptionnels et l'offre d'un 1/2 verre à cette étape est apprécié.Pas d'accord pour la meilleure...

My husband & I have been to some truly memorable restaurants during our travels which include France & St Barts. I would put Initiale certainly in the top 5. We went there on our first night & I don't see how this experience can be topped. The ambiance & the service were perfection but the dinner was out of this world. Every dish was prepared as a work of art. Every bite was special. It is owned by Rolande & Ivan. Rolande as the hostess could not have been more charming. The service is impeccable and the food well prepared. The flavours are original and the staff very professional and accommodating. The restaurant does not iron the creases on its table cloths that one would expect from a restaurant of this category. Whilst the experience is pleasant the restaurant does not add up to the prices it charges. One would expect more if to be considered as a two star macaron level and bill. I addition whilst well staffed and of good intentions the detail of dealing with serviettes dropped or absence from the table seemed missing. Worth the visit as perhaps in Europe one is spoilt too much and one is over exigent.

Superlative French Dining. Our group of 12 was seated in our own private area of the dining room away from all the busyness. The service was attentive and the wait staff was knowledgeable about the food and wine selection. The meals were fabulous, a small appetizer, followed by salad. The Mains were all terrific. We were un-rushed and we were unanimous that this was the best meal we had in Quebec City. The wines were well prices. Located right in the heritage part of town, this is a wonderful place to go for a walk afterwards down by the water-side.

Véritable expérience culinaire hors du commun, cuisine inventive et innovatrice. Optez pour l'accord mets vins proposé par leurs conseillers experts, vous ne le regretterez pas. Le service est attentionné, personnalisé et surtout pas envahissant. Le nec plus ultra de Québec...Pour la qualité globale le prix est très raisonnable mais pas à portée de tous.

I visited the restaurant as part of a group, so it's hard to rate the whole range of cuisine; ours was a set meal with limited choice -- fish-meat-vegetarian. That said, the arctic char was excellent, wine was very good if a bit on the pricey side, Service was prompt, attentive, and considerate.

We went to this restaurant to celebrate a special occasion, and were overwhelmed with how wonderful Mme Rolande and her team made the experience. The food was exquisite, the service impeccable, and the care and attention that we received exceptional.

Great French food. Our group of 4 had the $109 combination (per person) + drink. The over all cost is only about $800. The service is impeccable and the food is very delicious. $800 would be very cheap compare to what you got. High recommend !

Sophisticated, delicious, elegant .... love this place; almost like The French Laundry experience but more relax; I ll led the little presents at the end .
