We were staying in the holiday village so we used the restaurant a few times. It was October so off-season and not open all the time, which wasn’t clear on the complex’s website. Our first visit was for breakfast but we didn't realise that the restaurant staff were unaware of our presence on the complex, having arrived late the evening before, but they went out of their way to lay on an excellent spread beyond expectations and also catered for my dietary needs without fuss.We also had two evening meals in the restaurant during our stay and the ambiance was relaxed and very pleasant. Once again the staff were very attentive to our needs and they maintained a balance of being available when we needed them but not to the point where some waiting staff can become a bit of a pest.The food was prepared and cooked to a very good standard on both occasions and the recommendations made by the staff resulted in interesting and tasty choices.
A group of three of us stopped here for lunch last Sunday, 28 May 2017. They only had one menu with four courses all of which came with a glass of wine. We sat outside with a view of the fantastic pool and they treated us like kings, in our motorcycle leathers and all. We didn't really want four courses and didn't want to spend 39 Euros. However, the food was soooo good and the wine was simply divine we were happy as larks. This was the best meal we had on our entire trip through France, Spain and Andorra. I really really recommend Restaurant Le Brantalou. I will definitely go back and next time will stay in one of the Gites as their pool looked fabulous too.
Have eaten here many times, lunch and dinner and also large gatherings, locally we call the site that the restaurant is situated on the Belgium village. In the holiday months it can get very busy, the ouside eating area is next to the pool. We had trouble several years ago when we asked for one vegetarian meal, the kitchen staff pushed the duck of the plate, left the vegtab!es and served the plate, you could see the marks where the meat had been.The menu of the day is excellent and very good value for money, would recommend and make sure u book in the busy months.
We stayed at L'espinet for a few days in July and ate here for convenience. The a la carte menu is relatively expensive and the buffet menu is fairly inexpensive at 20 euros a head including house wine. The food is plentiful and nights are "themed"e.g Spanish, French. Exotic etc. The house white and rose wines are drinkable, the red is vile and revolting. I don't understand why people rave about the place. We were in it a number of times purely because we were residents, and it just isn't up to anything like the standards throughout Quillan.
