Restaurant Le Grillou

First restaurant we tried on our recent trip, looked good and quite busy, we were found a table, and made welcome. Menu has something for most diners, and whilst my partner went for her usual local fair, I stuck to a pizza, meal and service were good, and the cost reasonable. During the weeks after touring around the countryside this place became our default go to when nothing else could be decided on, not out of desperation, but out of knowing there would be good food, good service, and decent value. We stopped here at 1.45 pm as a last resort for some lunch... it didn't look very special from the outside, but inside was clean and modern .. it was busy which on a weekday lunch time is always a good sign. The waiter ( it was only his first day ) was very smiley and efficient.. because we were late we just ordered 2 hamburgers... in fact when they arrived they were the nicest hamburgers we had had in a very longtime. It came with a generous and tasty salad and good chips.Well done !

We had a set menu meal for €25 each for 3 courses. Unlimited salad bar plus a few other choices for starters We both had steak and frites. The amount of food on the plate was awesome and tasty. The steak was a bit fatty. There were a few choices for desert My only gripe is that the food was a bit greasy. The kids had the children's menu.

the food was clearly premaid and the service lousy. For example I could not get service to pay my bill they were apparently too busy. I was in the end asked to go to the bar. And there they claimed my card was out of order they just keyed in the wrong code for credit/debit. All in all Very poor service.

Ate here a few times and found the food and service consistently good. Nothing too fancy though. I especially liked the accompaniments like the carrot puree and potato gratin. Wine is quite affordable as well.

Open every day for a 3 course lunch including wine and coffee for 12.50€. Entree is from a self-serve salad bar, choice of main course, and dessert. Friendly, efficient service. A great restaurant.

Although the rules (you can't order from the bar, etc) from the grumpy barman are a bit weird, the food is good value, with good service, in a nicely decorated place. Excellent local wine.

By accident we found this gem in the Ardèche , the food was superb and the service as well ... We totally recommend this place

Just flagging a vegan assiette to help everyone on their travels. Reasonably priced, good food, quick service.
