The first time we arrived was great fast and easy pizza after a long ride. The second time we went to dinner, the food was below average. The waitress apologised for the steak being as hard as a shoe by it... on the meat cut and it was something "new" to the specialties offered. There was no other compensation offered on this indefinite other than we can cook it again, but you need to wait. It seems to be very busy because it is in a good position, but I think the food could have some attention. All in all for a quick Pit Stop, but you will find nicer restaurants for the same cost (or cheaper) in Bourg Saint Maurice or at the top of Ste Foy station.
What we liked about Le Monal was that they are fun and friendly. When you walk in, there’s a genuine après ski vibe, with groups of families and friends chatting, young staff, jazz music playing in the background, people drinking at the bar and big...tables, simply and stylishly set. We booked very last minute and were efficiently seated and served without feeling rushed. The food is bistro style you can have burgers and pizzas, but we wanted local fare so had a great fondue and tartiflette and lical wine. The green salad was fresh and beautifully dressed! The best bit was the kids menu with the most delicious raspberry sorbet quickly devoured!
Toddlers, toddlers, adults. We all loved it! Order good lace pizza and frying for the kids as you arrive. Sated her hunger and reduced all the screaming Ab Dabs, as my Nan said. Kitchen was more than happy to commit. Nice... flatters over the square in the bar area. Illuminated candles made it v atmospheric. Dead tried to blow them out. Food was amazing. Huge plate of a steak enjoyed by several guys. Duck with pear was divine, like the dauphinois potatoes. Also the Margarita pizza. Delicious with olives. Red victory we had was excellent. Couldn't have a pud in!! Beautiful bilingual service everywhere. It was great.
We had a table in the bar which had a nice atmosphere. Very friendly service. Food was at best average and not cheap. Tartiflette came in a separate dish , small portion without promised accompanying salad. Not cheap at 18 euros. My wife's salad had lots and lots of lettuce and not much else. Chocolate fondant dessert was seriously overcooked and dry. Certainly not worth 10 euros! Overall , experience was good but not the food.

We where 7 friends who came to Sainte Foy on a ski touring event. We had dinner at Le Monal and was exited that this place keeps on evolving. I had foy gray as the starter and entrecote for the main dish both top quality. The service was correct and friendly all the way. The atmosphere is tradionally alpin with all selected in wood and hunting troffee, old wathches etc. on the walls. We are in love with this place.
Situated on the road to Val d'Isère and Tignes, Le Monal offers a selection of good quality, good value food for lunch or dinner. Three different rooms offer a range from pizzas and salads to more elaborate dishes; or just have a beer on the terrace, and enjoy the view.Atmosphere is relaxed, staff friendly, and English-speaking if necessary.Le Monal is also a hotel, but the rooms get some noise from the road.
came here with a group of friends... we started with an apero on the beautiful sun drenched balcony. the mains were brilliant, the wine list extensive, and above all excellent service... finished the evening with a delightful espresso martini! great evening all round!
Ate here in a large group with kids and a baby. All the meals arrived together and staff were very friendly and accommodating. It's a busy place that's popular with Brits and particularly ex-pats. Very reasonable prices for somewhere in a ski resort. Will return!

We have stopped here a number of times now just for an apéro, both after skiing and after errands in Bourg, and really love the ambience. They do a great charcuterie board the chanterelles in oil are great.
we had a very nice dinner in the bar area with our daughter and son in law. the food was great and portions were quite large
