We were passing through and were not sure what to expect , however, the restaurant appeared very well appointed , and we were impressed to see the lady cleaning the window and spruicing up the place prior to opening . We turned up at 1845, too early , were told to come back at 1915. The hostess was extremely convivial, we were very well looked after , the service excellent and helpful without being too familiar . We opted for 2 menus for€ 17.50 for 3 courses , really good value for top notch food .I had the prawn and avocado bouchée , my husband had a goat s cheese salad. We both had the cabillaud with sauce au cidre, for dessert I had pannacotta and Ric had creme catalane ( creme brulée). Highly recommended

Our last evening in Brittany and very glad that we discovered Le val Marin (thanks again, Trip Advisor )!Extremely warm welcome - always a good start !Menu is kept to a relatively modest choice, in terms of numbers of dishes available. This makes life a lot easier however, as everything we tried was delicious !I have to say, restaurants that keep their menus simple and concentrate on quality and flavour get my vote every time...From the seafood terrine starter, to the brochettes de boeuf, mussels with spaghetti

Forget the port with its crowded tourist restaurants and their endless menus - direct from the freezer to your plate, there is nothing posh here. It just happens to have a small menu of freshly cooked seasonal food. He cooks, she serves. Service is as fast as one person can manage a,d the food very good for the price. Small choice of decent wines. I highly recommend the tiramisu - fresh and tasty, certainly one of the best I have had ever. We'll definitely go back

We visited Summer 2014 and had to come back for our family holiday. We were 9 including a disabled 19 year old in wheel chair, which the patron was pleased to accommodate. We had gambas and the young ones had pizzas followed by delicious ice creams. All at reasonabe prices. The restaurant is a husband wife team and is well organised, with take aways also available. The mirror on the back wall that looks like a window is an attractive decoration.
