Restaurant Marktplatz

We were literally kicked out at 10pm today (Monday), even though it was supposed to be open until 11pm. We were able to order the last round at 9:30 p.m., but were not informed that the restaurant was closing in 30 minutes. At 9:50 p.m. the lights were turned uncomfortably bright, a few minutes later the music was turned off and the staff started cleaning around us. Shortly afterwards we were told that they were now closing and we should leave. As we walked out we heard the staff cheering that it was finally time for work. It's a shame, because the restaurant would actually be a good meeting place with an uncomplicated atmosphere.

The boss was absolutely unfriendly and wanted me to put the stroller outside even though there was a child sleeping in it. If we didn't clear the path completely, it wouldn't give us anything to drink, even though it wouldn't have greatly hindered our progress. In addition, we should have asked first whether we were even allowed to sit at this table as a group of nine people, even though there was no reservation sign on it. He also took a chair away from us and put it at another table in the walkway and said it didn't belong at our table, even though it remained unused. Disastrous boss, could learn a lesson from the service staff.

The food was great! My only qualm was how expensive food is but that’s just in general all throughout Switzerland and you pay for water too. Restaurant was great though!

Great in everything food, drinks, atmosphere and ambiance lovely, service a bit rude other than that it's right in the middle of the city convenient Reserva una mesa ahora

Great restaurant, offering a variety of local courses. Staff is lovely, friendly, fast. Great place to dine while in Sankt Gallen! 5

It seems that on w-ends is a riot. In Schützengarten where I had beer, it was ok, service ok, beer not the best beer

The food was good but for me personally the restaurant was much too crowded and too loud. Keep it hip and youthful.

Too expensive at lunchtime, for simple people with small salaries. There is no menu for 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Reserva una mesa ahora

Very nice food in a historic setting. Service was good, friendly and attentive without being overbearing.

Really like this restaurant. Delicious foods and dessert. Would recommend to my friends.
