"Nice location, very friendly service. The chef possibly somewhat overambitious, trying to mix too many things into one single dish. That goes for the starter, as well as main course and desert (a somewhat strange mix of white chocolate and peanut butter?)Only one menu - a bit surprising to have a fix menu with a meat dish on good Friday, without the option to switch for fish?!"

I stayed at the hotel in which this restaurant is situated, it is on the 5th floor, and I passed it a couple of times but it was always empty. One reason, I think, is that the menu is rather obscure, with slashes between the dish description as inscallop/saffron/guava/back puddingA little off- putting, I felt. However, as a lone diner, I was getting pretty fed up of waiting for bad food each evening, although in a beautiful setting, Dresden's main square and its surrounds. So on my last night I treated myself and got a table on the roof terrace. The waitress was very helpful and friendly, and produced a good selection of bread. It's clear there are 5 courses, an appetiser, a hot starter, a soup course, a main and dessert. I didn't want the soup. This wasn't a problem. To start, I had quail's egg/chick/gorgonzola/rocket, but it was so much more than that! It had a delicious fried bread cube, a gorgonzola sorbet, and crumbled herbs to garnish. It was, superb. But the description is selling itself short! The hot starter was also good, scallops in a saffron sauce, with a black pudding jelly. The "guava" ends up on the dish as a smear, nothing more. My main was beef/capers/sour cherries/ smoked aubergine, but again, more- a delicious sauce, and perfect mash- a small amount, but perfect....There are 3 dessert options, I enjoyed a nougat with gold leaf. In all, the food was beautifully presented, and the best food in Dresden so far, on a par, that is, with Kallemeiers where you have to book a table. This place deserves the same popularity but is selling itself short with the odd menu descriptions. It scares people off, like myself. I urge you to go and try for yourself. There's a great evening to be had, in a stunning setting.

My boyfriend and I had won a gift certificate that was worth 50€.. so we decided to spend our 2 anniversary in restaurant Moritz. When we arrived the restaurant was almost empty. The atmosphere was nice but everything else was horrible... we ordered a bottle of wine and water... the waiters were very unprofessional and poured my wine into my water glass the she asked me if she could just pour the wine that was in my water glass into my wine glass.... unexceptable. We ordered 5or 6 courses And non of them were good... my boyfriend is a chef and we both work at a 5 star hotel In Germany so we know everything there is to know about food and wine.. the meal was the worst... I couldn't even eat everything because I was so in shock that a restaurant this expensive could be so horrible. Anyway they had dry age beef on the menu and we ordered that as our main course with crab and what we got was an over cooked non dry age steak with scallops !!!! I didn't eat my main course and we complained to the service and they hesitate to take care of us. We had to ask them for a refund and explained what was wrong. No acknowledgement at all. Then suddenly the waitress shows up with 2 coffees and said sorry Our main course was still on our table and our wine was not empty yet so we didn't drink the coffee. We asked to speak to a chef but they said that the kitchen team had left already... so we asked for the check and all they reimbursed us was the coffee and one main course and they didn't book everything that we order to save taxes. Don't eat in this restaurant!!! Save your money...

Went here with some business colleagues for a "special" diner. The room was a little too small and the outside terrace was not really the setting for a business meal. The staff were very friendly and the service was good. The menu was Nouvelle Cuisine, not really to my taste and I struggled to find things that I really wanted to eat...not the restaurant's fault but I am more into basic food person. Would I go back..no, for me there are much better places in Dresden in eat and drink and be merry.

This restaurant is well located just off to the side of Neumarkt. But you don't just walk in there if you're not staying at the Hotel Suitess. You talk to the reception and they escort you to the cozy rooftop location. Got the tasting menu, which was very nice. If anything is not perfect, they'll remove it from your presence and from the bill. A very romantic dinner with my wife in a very exclusive setting.
