We stayed at the hotel and had both breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was solid, but Dinner is a great experience. I loved the Mediterranean influences on the food. My wife and I both had different parts of the 3 course menu. We both enjoyed every dish. The soups are great and flavorful. The risotto is not too creamy made just the right way. I had the sirloin stake which was very tender considering sirloin is usually quite chewy. My wife's desert poppyseed gnocchi, was a delightful surprise. I had the chocolate cake for desert. Walked down the hill from where we were staying to find this gem. Service, food and attention to detail rivals some top restaurants. The amuse was amazing. The wild sheep and raviolis with porcini were to die for. Deserts we passed on but the kitchen still provides some perfect treats to finish with. We did the cheese course. An interesting selection. Some just too far out for our tastes. Would come back in a heartbeat.

While I take note of some less enthusiastic reviews (following the departure of Robert Hocker as chef), I still consider this the best restaurant at Grundlsee. Dishes have remained of high quality, both on the fish and the meat side. Friendly service, good choice of wines by the glass. Sequencing of courses however could benefit from better management.

Food in this restaurant was delicious. High quality. Serving staff was very friendly. The deer was there best we ever had! Cheese was very good. One small remark is that portions were small.

You come for an Austrian dinner in a small village and you get amazing 3 M stars dinner, amazing service and amazing view... can’t wait to come back !
