My husband and I are visiting from LA and decided to eat close to our hotel tonight instead of going into Montreal as we did last night. I used to work in an Indian restaurant in college and ate homemade, family style Indian food three times per week so I was hoping for authentic flavor and style, which is what I found here. It is important to note that this restaurant is a Muslim Indian restaurant, which means no alcohol and no pork. No problem. Drove by here on the way home as I wanted some Asian food and it's been a while since I had some good Indian food! Totally found this place by chance and man....am I so happy I did. I use to joke around with my Indian friends that my middle name should be Sanjay because I love the spices from Indian food so much. Indian people really know the art of spice! It's no surprise that early explorers to North America were looking for a passage to the orient in search of spices! Since some Indian places I've visited in Montreal don't understand spice very well I asked them how spicy they do their dishes. The guy at the counter told me they understand spice. Being accustomed to Indian food ourselves, we are very skeptical when ordering from Indian restaurants in our area thinking they may not be the real deal. However, the cravings for spicy food were intense and being too lazy to travel into Montreal, decided to grab a takeaway from Shaan Tandoori and give it a go. Inside it is small and cosy with a typical 'Indian restaurant ' feel and being a Friday, it was already quite full. We ordered the Special Combo for 2 to go and waited at one of the tables whilst they prepared. I found the customer service extremely rude I can understand that the restaurant receives many orders but the main host kept yelling on the phone that they are extremely busy...

So happy to have found a good Indian restaurant without having to cross the bridge!!! Yay! As some of you might know, I live in a beautiful area without any decent restaurants : So when we want to go out to eat, we usually have to drive at least 40-45 minutes into Montreal or at least closer to Montreal like Brossard and such. Well this time we drove 30 minutes to this little Indian restaurant not too far from the Champlain Mall. I got the table d'hôte A and hubby got table d'hôte C (vegetarian . One of the best Indian/Mughlayi food you will find in whole Montreal. This is must try place for Indian food lovers. I have ordered veg pakora and Chicken tikka in appetizers.. both of them were quite good and freshly prepared for us. In Main course I have order Malay Kofta and chicken Biryani(came with additional curry) with 2 tandoori roti. after eating for 1 hour I came back Hotel with to go of left over whole Biryani and half malayi kofta(+1 tandoori) . This whole order was only 47(C), so it 's not instead it is . Service was good and staff was very very friendly. I would recommend this place for all the Indian foodies staying and visiting Canada.

First time going here today and I really enjoyed it. Very clean and fast service it is family run and the lady that severed us was the wife of the chef she was so kind and sweet and helped us with our order I wish I took pictures but we were so excited to enjoy our food that we forgot ...another Must go if you enjoy Indian food another nice little gem found on the South Shore of Brossard . They have been in the same location for 19 years only upset that I've been living here for 40 years and this is the first time I went.

Food is very Good, can't Argue with That, but the Service, whether I go pick it up or have it delivered (wich i will never do again... , is total C**P. I order to go pick it up, leave 20 after i call, 10 mins to get there, still have to wait 30mins in the restaurant , glimpses in the kitchen, you can actually see them running like headless chickens in there,or, order online at 5pm. Delivery set by them at 6:05pm,Food showed up at 7:10pm. Logistics people, work on it...

Loved it. Service was a little slow due to the elder gentleman but it was well worth it. The free soup was a pleasant surprise. I really enjoyed the flavour unlike at other places. I ordered the chicken Resella. First time I ever ordered this. Another great surprise. Sweet and spicy. Just within my palette. I really enjoyed my lunch and within my budget. Place is tiny. The decor is nothing to look at. It's BYOW. The owners are Indian and sometimes a bit overwhelmed But... as a connaisseur of Indian cuisine... THE FOOD IS AWESOME! Some of the best Shrimp Phatia, Saag Paneer and Jalfrezi you will ever have outside of India (or England).
