"Innovative - Creative - Delightful !We enjoyed a delicious 3-course lunch. An entrée surprisingly based on root vegetable and you wouldn't believe the hidden flavours! Followed by mi-cuit salmon, gently prepared at low-temperatures which results in a mellow, yet rich dish, complemented by a wintery vegetable medley with a creamy-citrusy sauce. And the dessert was definitely too small!"

Our first time at this restaurant but definitely not the last. We had the three course lunch menu at 19€ and it was incredible value for the quality of what we ate. Starter of poached type egg, covered and fried in breadcrumbs served on a bed of diced potatoes and spinach in a mild curry sauce. Followed by excellently cooked steak pieces with cabbage and purée, my wife had filet of pollock served on a bed of sea vegetables which she said was wonderful. Dessert for me was a type of eclair filled with orange slices etc and served with a very delicately flavoured lemon grass ice cream, amazing !, my wife had elderflower flavoured cream, coulis, with fresh strawberries with mascarpone ice cream,...

Was taken to this fairly new establishment by a business colleague.He has been raving about it for quite a while.I eat out a lot and never take much notice of what other people say or think, as I like to form my own opinion.Vingt Neuf is exceptional.The decor tasteful, the service second to none and the food sublime.I had a main and a dessert.The main was a slow cooked pork belly with a lovely crunchy outer and with juicy mouth watering meat that was so succulent it defied description. Served with a divine jus with so much depth of flavour it left me on the verge of panic as I was finshing it. Only open a few weeks Restaurant Vingt Neuf is already making waves amongst other top restaurants in Saintes. Subtle english touches shine through from the start such as homemade marmite butter!A trio of excellent canapés kicked started the evening. Starters and mains were excellent too.Apple Soufflé, always a tricky dessert to pull of but we needn't have worried as it rose higher than the Eiffle Tower, not too "egg-ie, and full of flavour. Coffee and Mignardises were very good too.Service was friendly and efficient by a waiter who spoke very good English.

We ate here at lunchtime and the food was delicious. I had the "chefs suggestion" which was €31 per person and excellent. The chef is British and has worked with Tom Kerridge and the quality shows. This was the best meal that we had in our 3 week tour of France. We travel to France each year for our summer hols and next year we will ensure our route allows for a trip to Restaurant Vingt Neuf.
