my last visit to the volkshaus was very disappointing. I was once here to dinner to eat out and it was great. but this time: we were hungry and ordered every court that seemed like a decent lunch, as it cost us 35 CHF... each we asked the servicewoman if it was a real one and she said yes. what came was a shock. my friend got a piece of brot with some sauce and small toppings and I have enough fish, but a few spoons of kartoffels. we expressed our disappointment, and I asked upwards to kartoffel kartoffeln, so that I could finish my court by eating only fish with nothing else. although the restaurant was almost empty, it took forever to get a normal service (pick up dishes/water after fillin...
Unfortunately, the service was unskilled again and only one of three waiters was friendly! rather leaner.I had an extra desire and asked the waiter. this answered quite arrogant-NO-that is not possible! he didn't even ask in the kitchen.Slate came the nice waiter-like answer but we agreed to ask in the kitchen. and voilà-es went. and the food was delicious!If it wasn't possible, they had two guests less on the evening! and quite honestly, I won't even come again - and I don't have to pay for it!
We liked the atmosphere of the restaurant however food was not that good. They had a special seefood evening. We took 6 pieces of oysters that took 30min to arrive and Moules as a starter. The Moules were nod bad but the still the worst...I've ever had. Service was excellent. Aldo our waiter was very friendly, competent and caring. I think we will go again to see how it is when they have standard menu and not a special seefood one.

After arriving from the US 4 hours earlier, I ventured out of my hotel to find the best restaurant/bar I could have hoped to stumble upon. Busy and friendly. Had a vodka and soda and asked my server for a recommendation. She suggested the cheesecake, not the US cheesecake, but the best version of a cheese quiche I've ever tasted. Service was excellent. Food was delicious. Atmosphere was perfect.
I agree with many reviews made about it! beautiful atmosphere at the time of the aperitif and beyond in the bar area. the place is beautiful as the building, as many in zurigo is historical, but the dinner I would recommend to do it elsewhere.
that's an old charmer. very beautiful ambiente and atmosphere. I had fish and it was very well prepared (not to take for granted) the menu consists of many old Swiss classics and was quite tempting. the service was very friendly and nice
Our wait time was reasonable and the atmosphere and decor of the restaurant was very nice. Food was good and the price was fair; the menu choices okay. Only complaint was our waiter was not friendly but just short of being rude.

Nice restaurant with a good bar menu in a historical, high ceiling building. The food was very good, with interesting variations of traditional Swiss bar food.
around 8.30 no more fresh climax -baked; and the coffee machine has a disorder? the friendly service is not enough.
