Restaurant Zum Gruenen Baum

After a very long journey from Blighty to the little town of Ehrwald we struggled to find a restaurant for some long-awaited food that wasn't all booked up. Here however we were welcomed with open arms. They found us a table and the waitress was a delight; really funny, attentive with perfect English. Lovely. We had the pork Wiener Schnitzel which were the best I've tasted apart from my own! Our friends had the burger which was lovely and rare and ginger-stuffed chicken breast with an oriental stir-fry. Everything was delicious. I know we were really hungry and could have eaten an old hat with relish but really this was what the Doctor ordered. Beers, wine and some delicious hazelnut schnapp...

Had a wonderful meal after arrival in Ehrwald. Many of the other restaurants were already fully booked, but here they were very accommodating and gave us a selection of tables. The waitress was extremely helpful and committed. The food was well presented, very good and service prompt. What more could you want after a long day. Perfect!

If you want tho to know more about food pollution, insects, a mouse!!!!......... Cockroaches, low hygiene, food was every day the same whole week they only change the plates. Poisoning! bad service and unwilling owners especially the lady at the reception (very bad) go there.

We did not trust the negative reviews and we were positively surprised. The service was very attentive and very nice. We had some soups and the excellent burger an Austrian variation over the hamburger.

Had a wonderful meal here, great value, good food, friendly service. I have no complaints.
