Restaurante O Caldeirao

We were actually looking for another restaurant nearby but this one looked nice and had a nice menu, so we tried it.Very friendly service, could have been faster, but the restaurant was completely full. The wine list is quite extensive, but we opted for a red wine suggestion which wasn't as great as the delicious meals we had. Grilled fish, very fresh with a nice salad,A large steak soaked in creamy mustard sauce with both rice and fries.While we waited we had bread and butter and olives and a tuna dip.We had no room for desert.The bill was around €45.

This place is very calm, elegant and peaceful. The prices are mid range, from 1.20 to 4€ (couverts, drinks and dessert) and 8 to 15€ (daily and other dishes) The waiter is helpful regarding what to eat and if it is a dose for one person or not. The apresentation of the room is somewhat antique but quite beautiful. Also it is the first time that I saw a waiter come to the table ask for the taxpayer number. 5 points just there. I really liked him, he is nice.

The dish of the day on Mondays is 'bacalhau a bras' - a mix of shredded salt cod with thinly cut fried potatoes and onions cooked in egg. In some trepidation we both tried this - served with salad - and it was a great success. For desserts we had a caramel mousse and a pear in red wine with ice cream. With draft beer to drink and some tasty nibbles to begin with, the meal cost less than 35 Euros.

This Portuguese restaurant is perfect if, like us, you are staying at la Casa D'Obidos - within walking distance. It is also good for other guests too ! The grilled octopus was fresh and delicious, the local Portuguese Viognier too, and the service was perfect. Definitely, a must-try when staying in Obidos. Reserva una mesa ahora

Very good restaurant, had the grilled octopus and my partner the pork, was very tasty, good wines and deserts. Easy to park and it is located in front of Capela do Senhor da Pedra. It is more expensive as in general, but worthwhile. Bring a jacket or a warm sweater as it is chilly inside (winter/spring)

Our party of five had an excellent lunch time meal, everybody was very pleased with the food and the service was very attentive with out being over bearing. It was the first time we had been to the restaurant and we were pleased with the...decor and ambience.

The restaurant was outside of the walled city, close to where I was staying in a rural setting. I had the Octopus, which was great and the price was very reasonable. I would go back there again for sure.

We've been coming here for family meals since 2010. The food and service are always great and price is reasonable. A good selection of meat and fish dishes and laid back atmosphere.

Nice surprise. Nice service, good fish and best shrimp ever! Home made Ginja was also excellent. Gluten was not a problem, and they spoke very good English.
