Rice Republic - Reserva de mesa

I had great takeaway from here about 7-8 months ago but just now was delivered an extraordinarily disappointing wonton soup and roast pork char siu BBQ. The prawn and ginger dumplings I got were delicious but couldn’t make up for lukewarm, ketchup-flavoured pork I had to saw through with a steak knife and tough, gristly, unseasoned wonton meat. Also, this supposed-bbq pork was on a bed of sad, watery kale. I know we’re in a recession and food costs are higher but I’d honestly rather pay more for a decent quality ingredients and a chef who knows what they’re doing. What the hell happened, Rice Republic, you guys used to be decent? I have to go wash the bad flavours out of my mouth now.

In the culinary desert that is Streatham Rice Republic is an oasis of good food and service. Whether you like British/Chinese classics like Crispy shredded beef/Prawn toast or Dim sum/soups you will find everything is super flavoursome and cooked with a light touch. The menu concentrates on what it does exceptionally well rather than an exhaustive list of Chinese cuisine. And Rice Republic also has a superb and fairly priced wine list. And best of all reasonably priced for food of this quality.

Wow wow wow. What a taste. Wow. I ordered 2 dishes. First: BBQ Roast Pork. It was super good. Nothing else to say. And the second dish was Won Ton Udon. And it was not super good, it was super amazing. The dumplings were so so good. So much tastes inside. This is really hand made food. I will come back again to try other dishes.

Delicious high quality Asian food with a wonderful menu and great service. I’m pretty fussy about asian food having grown up in Australia. Restaurant has a great atmosphere and doesn’t feel like you are on the busy high street. Also reasonably priced for London. Reserva una mesa ahora

It's just above average, dim sum we're good but only got 2 very small ones for £4. Got 2 mains, crispy beef and szechuan chicken, both were pretty standard Chinese takeaway vibe, nothing special. Portion of rice was £5! Service was quick but rude.

This place used to be much better. Waited almost an hour for the main course and considered leaving. It's a shame as the first few times I visited Rice Republic in the past, my experience was far better.

This was the most tastiest fresh and full of flavour foods I’ve ever had. Everything was delicious. It is an absolute hidden gem that more people should know about. Their food is amazing.

We ordered the crispy fried shredded beef with egg fried rice. Sadly it wasn’t as crispy as we’ve had it at other places. With the sauce it even got a bit soggy. Reserva una mesa ahora

Food was absolutely delicious, as was the wine. Service was great, staff are really friendly would highly recommend a visit

Delicious food, good small plate selection, fun vibe. Look forward to going again and trying more of the menu
