We reserved through but when I called to advise we will be late as we were travelling from Germany, they didn't have our reservation on their books. Fortunately they could still reserve us a table. It was difficult to find it but eventually we...arrived. We needed to walk through the smoking area to get to the non smoking bit, the door was open between the two, so we could still smell the smoke. The menu wasn't available in English so I needed to translate to the others. My sister ordered coke which arrived flat with no gas in it at all, the diet coke was in a bottle so I was lucky. My sister ordered the grill platter which was really nice, me and my husband ordered the Wiener Schnitzel, one with potatoes, one with chips. The potatoes were over cooked and tasted like water, weren't nice at all, the chips was all right. The portions were quite big. As there are not many restauarants in the area, I think they might take it a little bit for granted that people would visit, but don't expect high quality food, you can expect home cooked type of food, although my own food is better and I am not a professional chef.

It was a rainy Sunday night in Reid and we didn't feel like cooking. There were only two restaurants open on Sunday evening and we chose Reider Wert. We had a lovely table overlooking the beer garden. Our server knew more English and we know...Austrian. After a series of of exchanges in pantomime, fractured Austrian and halting English, we ordered warm onion bread and pretzels and sparking Reider beer. Pumpkin soup followed with pumpkin oil floating on top. It was warmly satisfying after a rainy day. There were four of us, one had goulash, another wild mountain sheep, another pork and one beef. Each was filling and good. Austrian food isn't inspired but one is never hungry after dinner. Our server was wonderful, she was smart, humorous and fun. What the food lacked, she made up for it.
