Castelgrande - Reserva de mesa

It is no wonder that this complex was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This example of an Alpine fortress is not only picturesque like few others, but it illustrates a lifestyle and an era in an exemplary way. The three castles are of rare beauty and are very well restored. The wall joins two of them and is articulated with the city, offering a unique walk from a privileged point of view. As if something were missing, the natural landscape that surrounds Bellinzona, especially if it is crowned with snow, provides a perfect background for contemplating the monuments. I have not given the maximum score while waiting for the two castles closed for repairs to reopen.

the castelgrande is very beautiful. from the tower you have a wonderful view of the city. in the museum you can watch a very interesting movie about the castle. there is also a impressive exhibition about the construction of the monte ceneri tunnel.
