after 30 minutes we were first noticed although not much was going on. a menu we have received but a drink wish could not be abandoned because the waiter had very hurry and rather talked with passersby on the way. after another 30 minutes we could give up an order. preparing a pizza and an salad takes a good hour at the restaurant. my friend asked 2x where our food remains and was both rejected in school-to-school. no brot was served and the pizza was not as ordered with mushrooms but with ham. eating was not very good and the waiting time was the horror! the prices are also very funny when a water is more expensive than the same amount of ice cream? a water for 6fr and an salat for 26.50fr...
We asked the waiter for his top recommendation for pizza. He did not hesitate to recommend “o' purpatiell” (Octopus, potatoes, mayonnaise etc. Overall a good pizza. Crust is very good. Ingredients also. Inspires me to go and check out the other pizzas in their menu. However, octopus (not generously offered and potatoes (generously offered on a pizza is not everyone’s cup of tea. I felt the presence of potatoes were over powering the already delicate taste of octopus. Service is overall very good. Handsome, well dressed waiters with not very good listening but speaking skills. He mentioned to be updating their pizza oven with higher temperatures soon. Atmosphere is ok. what I liked especially-: the italienità in service and in the card- the quality of the food- the feeling of being welcome we felt very comfortable from the first sight. yes - in the il gallo something has improved for good. my last review in 2015 is not so good. but with the current manhood and the good quality of the food, I simply have to forgive the maximum score. no complaints. price/performance absolutely in order. the friendliness of the team has really enjoyed us. Friendly staff, good Italian restaurant. Moderate prices. Pizza costs around 22CHF. 2022: just visited this place and it was amazing. Refreshing design of menu, pizzas. I must admit this is the best pizza in Switzerland I had for years. Simple made yet reach in taste. I loved it. If you are ready to test classic pizzas but refreshing design you are on the right place! Fior di latte, San marzano tomatos, that's the style. These guys know what they are doing. Premium ingredients. Absolutely recommended.

The Good: The restaurant was three tram stops from our hotel It was open on Easter Sunday The ‘black tagliolini’ w/ prawns was tasty The Bad: The ‘Specials’ were only described in German The server spoke only Italian The Ugly: There was a burnt smell when we entered The burnt smell kept getting worse all through our meal The bread was served crunchy, hard crusted and burnt The ‘Special’ Tagliatelle al Salmone was bland, sticky and unappealing
yesterday we were in the restaurant "il gallo" it was excellent. from the loving greeting, the caring care, the delicious food (scarved on stone mushroom sauce with cowardly and white wine risotto) simply wonderful. absolutely perfect evening through the service brigade :)once and again.
good service, eat very well, we had lamb, bark fillet, calfscarf, fry. all of my group was fully satisfied. the antipasto had sardelles on the teller, carpaccio etc. had fishy taste what everyone had not liked. as a substitute there was a grappa, according to our taste!
regularly go here because eating is really good. Unfortunately, the service is depending on the staff, moderate to bad. out of the chef, who is super! no order in the service, eternal waiting times and there will be forgotten things.

Tasty meals. For sure. Traditional Italian. Staff is a little.. How do I say this... Uncoordinated. We've been with a group of nine and it's been impossible to have warm meals in front of everyone at the same time.
We like this place for the nice pizzas and fresh pasta. Although it gets busy at lunchtime the staff quickly served us. Recommended
