i have been visiting this restaurant for last 7 years despite of the low value for money, mainly because of its location and nice view of the lake from the terrace.in my last visit i had to wait for much too long -more than a hour- for a a coke, a beer, vitello tonnatto -poor- and tuna tartar -good- for wich i paid around 90 sfr).i did not make any comment about the long time waiting and when i politely asked for the bill, the reply from the waiter was "relax" and he took around 15 minutes to bring the bill.such underestimation from a waiter is not acceptable, and even less in an expensive place like this.this certainly was my last visit to this place since i will never return.
We are locals and come here at least twice a month. We are enjoying lunch or dinner at la scala. The food is delicious and always fresh. Enjoy some pasta or seafoods. Every day you can choose between 3 fresh fishs, prepared in three different styles. Branzino backed in salt crust is very much recommend. Pasta is delicious or you can also enjoy some pata negra t-bone steak. Service is attentive and funny if you are as well. The view is amazing, just above the harbor in rapperswil. Just go and enjoy one of the many appetizers and some delicious italian food. La Scala also provide an extensive wine menu.
We had lunch at this restaurant with a nice view over the lake. The owner and staff were very friendly and gave us excellent service. The tuna tartare, spinach salad and Burrata Culatello were all outstanding. Deffinitely worth a visit. Tip - if you would like a top floor, table with a view, I would recommend making a reservation well in advance.
We chose this restaurant by accident during a downpour, it was the only one with any space although we had to perch on wobbly stools at the bar! I had the spaghetti with garlic and my wife the garlic prawns. The food was nothing exceptional but it was all good, hot and tasty. The location, virtually right on the lake, is lovely.
