Never experienced anything like this, no matter the type of restaurant. So for me this review is about the management not the food. The food is actually ok, fresh and well cooked, however I will not return this place. Being ripped off is not something I take lightly and when the restaurant manager then starts shouting at you when they automatically added over £10 to my bill for a table charge it is why I titled this review a rip off and beware. We were not that hungry so only chose 3 starters for the two of us with quite a few poppadoms. Our bill amounting to over £35 was overlooked when I paid in the early evening, it wasnt until the next day I realised. Oh they also never gave us the recie...
We were looking for somewhere for a late meal and came across this little gem. We rang and were met with a friendly welcome and confirmation that a table was available. Curries were delicious. Packed with flavour and plenty of meat in each. The price was very reasonable and the staff were attentive without being intrusive. We live out of the area but would definitely like to have a return visit next time we are here.
I went to River Spice in Reading with my family.. I just wanna say, taking decision to visit the restaurant and having meal it was a wonderful outcome for us .We just mesmerised by the food and circumstances.The service was excellent and all the stuffs are very kind ,friendly and active. However,sitting beside the window and see the view of wonderful river ;it’s cool..Thanks for the team and see you soon ..
Went for meal with friends. One friend has a gluten intolerance but very cautious due to staff apparent lack of knowledge of ingredients. It would certainly help if this information was on the menu to take away the guess work. Very slow service on this visit.

We drive 3 hours to eat there and We had a great experience, the food was the best we ever tried, people who served us were nice and helpful with everything we asked for. For sure we will go back as soon as possible. We will remember this for lifetime.
Absaloughtly love riverspice! We come atleast 6/7 times a year and if we want an Indian takeaway we only order from riverspice and it’s always just as good as when we go in and eat. Food is always so nice, service is always good! No complaints
A consistently wonderful Indian restaurant. So exceptional dishes including Ostrich, Venison and Monkfish. Not on the menu but I really recommend an Ostrich Balti or if you're feeling adventurous an Ostrich Naga Balti. Delicious!
Slow service and the waiter didn’t know the menu. Would recommend to train the staff.
