We were Sat at a terrible table by the door with blinding sun straight in my eyes. Despite having a reservation waited 15 minutes for our drink order, ordered a 45 dollar bottle of Napa Merlot that was in fact a 10 dollar bottle (so it tasted like garbage). This is perhaps partially Napa’s fault for lending there name to **** wine marked up 500%. I ordered a strip steak rare. I was brought out a grey moist thing without any charing if it was lightly boiled. One of these strikes on its own would have been tolerable. $140 dollars later I was asking myself why did I bother with this establishment.
Service was extremely slow and the restaurant was out of 4-5 menu items. They were even out of coke! Who has heard of such! No salmon, crab cakes, short ribs, the list went on and on. Probably took over 10-15 min to get our cocktails and the place was empty. We have dined here many times in the past since our daughter has been at KU but sad to say this restaurant has really deteriorated. Our server told us we had to order our dinner when we were enjoying our wine and appetizers. It was very awkward. We suspected she wanted to go off her shift. Probably will not return to RND
Have been here several times. Unfortunately, it was a busy evening and we waited a long time for our food. Once we got it, it was cold. Steak was overcooked, but cold (was supposed to Med Rare; came out well done). We gave feedback to waiter. He told his manager who was very nice and accommodating and comped our dinners. Staff and manager did a good job trying to remedy the issues. Will try them again.
The food quality was much better in the past. My $35 filet was served on top of a huge mound of mashed potatoes and did not look very appetizing (presentation definitely needs some work). Although the cook on my steak was good, it had a terrible gas flavor. We were regulars in the past but I am sad to say things have gone downhill in the past year or so.

Food was excellent. Our server was very green, left my beer empty for quite a while. I asked for an app, he automatically gave us the $30 version and not the $15 one, which is what I wanted. He was not very attentive and looked to be more interested in the host. Food however, was on point.
Prior to getting my credit card statement, I would have given everything top rating my family and I really enjoyed our experience. However, when I got my credit card statement, it showed that they added $10 to the tip that I had clearly stated on the receipt.....disappointing.
We always enjoy the atmosphere here. We were a little disappointed in the service on a Saturday night. We weren’t there at a busy time and our food still took forever. And very disappointed at the amount of Salmon on my Salad. Brussels sprouts are amazing!
The menu was approachable, which made choosing our meals very easy. All the food was delicious. We ended up passing around all of our dishes to share. Our server, Hannah, seemed to be able to anticipate the moment we required her service.

I can always count on high quality food at RND. This was my first time to do a weekday lunch and the menu had many good choices at very reasonable prices.
Great food, several options, friendly and engaged dinner service. Will dine there again.
