We have visited Robatary on many occasions and it’s never provided us with anything other than a great experience. The staff are really friendly and are always on hand to assist you. The menu offers a wide range of both small plates as well as larger main meals. On our most recent visit, we ordered; (small plates) duck pancakes, duck fried gyozas, (large plates) katsu chicken curry and crispy chilli beef. The duck pancakes came with a hoisin dipping sauce and were really flavoursome. With the gyozas, you actually get a choice of whether you want them deep fried or steamed and a choice of two different dipping sauces as well. Visited a few times over the last couple of years and has always been great. This visit really wasn’t great. Starters, bland and flavourless. When the waiter collected our plates he asked how we found the starters so we replied ‘ok, quite bland’ and he replied ‘that’s brilliant’… clearly in robot mode not listening! Then the mains were marginally better, but still bland and lacking for the price. The chicken katsu was no better than something I could have ordered from a Wetherspoons. No opportunity to provide feedback as no one asked us. We came here for our Christmas do on the back of previous good service and food. Firstly let me say the food was nice when it finally arrived! . Our problem was with the service. In the past service in this restaurant has been excellent but I’m not sure there’s been a change in staff but last nights service was so slow . Over an hour between started and mains with an excuse that it was the grilled chicken which too so long! . Also we found staff were either surly and unsmiling or way over the top. It’s a shame because for some reason standards have slipped in what used to be one of the nicest restaurants.
Fabulous atmosphere ,staff were amazing coudnt do enough for us .We had a lovely time my son and family from Blackpool and then the rest of us .The menu is different and beautifully served .And amazingly material serviettes not bits of tissue that disintegrates as soon as you touch them . Everyone thought the food delicious and it really was ..I will be going again .My son says that’s the only place he wants to go for a meal when he visits next time .Well done to the staff and chefs very impressed .

Service was prompt if a little unprofessional a lot of noise coming from kitchen area which was between waiters and kitchen staff having some kind of joke . I ordered burnt bits pork belly which was fine. I also ordered noodles which were incredibly salty and chicken wings in soy The chicken was terrible tough dry and inedible I told the waiter and a slight discount was offered. A very mediocre, forgettable experience.
Food lovely, service very slow Pretty poor when you get given a dessert spoon between 2 people to stir espresso coffees, which were Luke warm , so ordered 2 more coffees and got ,wait for it …. 2 straws each to stir coffees!!! One waitress got an attitude by trying to give us the dessert spoon we had to stir coffee with as a dessert spoon , got a bit of a huff on when we asked for 2 spoons to eat our desserts with .
Food took 1hour to arrive, burger was so dry I wouldn’t have fed it to my dog, nobody ever asked if the food was okay so had no opportunity to say it’s bad. We sat for 30min waiting for the bill only to go up and find all the waiters standing at the bar. When they cleared the table and my full plate of food they still didn’t ask if it was okay
Walked past and dropped in for a quick lunch and stuck around as we were so pleasantly surprised. A lovely menu with beautiful decor. The waitress that served us could have been a little happier but as a waitress I get it, but maybe loose the chewing gum. Will be returning :

Absolutely amazing experience as always....Reece is exceptional at his job and one of the reasons we return.....the food is amazing especially the tapas...an overall amazing restaurant
Terrible service as the restaurant manager looks down at people and worst experience ever. Would not recommend this restaurant at all.
