Four of us dined at Rocco's on a Saturday night. I have dined there 10-12 times previously. After waiting 15 We had to signal a busboy to request a server to come to our table to take our order. Finally order taken, promised bread arrived after 3 requests, and it was refrigerator cold. Salad was served with onions after stating one of our party could not eat onions so ordered no onions. Panini was incorrect, mussels in marinara dish were cold. we had to ask again for a server to try to straighten out mess. Apologized said kitchen was backed up. Server clearly did not check dishes as she delivered to table. Finally demanded to manager who removed charges, but dinner ruined as dishes were sent...
We wanted to try Rocco's for some authentic Italian food in Madison and be able to have a glass of wine along with our meal. Rocco's is a cross between a pizza parlor and a sports bar. We waited a bit for the waiter to come and greet us, we ordered our drinks and food. The dishes were good, nothing stood out as fantastic or above the ordinary Italian dishes you can get at many local spots. When we were finished we got the dessert menus and had to wait for a long time before the waiter came back to take our dessert order. All in all it was an okay experience and we might go back sometime to see if the service was just bad on that night or if it is an ongoing problem.

If you're looking for a fast option for lunch to get a sandwich or just want to stop by for a drink, then this place is suitable. The food is mediocre, and there are much better Italian restaurants in the area.
The servings are generous, so expect to bring leftovers home for lunch or dinner the following day. The lobster ravioli dish and the chicken Gregory were both outstanding.
Portions are big, so be ready to take whatever at home for lunch on dinner the next day. the lobster ravioli dush and the chicken Gregory were excellent.
We enjoyed cocktails at this restaurant before heading to our next destination. The bartender was very knowledgeable and skilled at making drinks.

Nice place for a casual evening with entertainmet after 9:30) and decent food at a reasonable price in Madison.
Had cocktails in another place. Bar zart knows his stuff!!
