Rockaway Lions Club

The impact of the Rockaway Lions Club can be seen all over Rockaway including life preservers at a nearby dock. At all of the local festivals they are selling hotdogs and spreading kindness. Their largest money maker is Saturday night bingo. It starts at 7pm and is an intense 3 hours. Game after game of attempting to beat the crowd by dabbing the required shape on your board. On our first visit we had 2 locals provide guidance and coach us through the evening. At the breaks there are soft drinks and locally made snacks for purchase. The homemade caramel corn is addicting! If you are in Rockaway on a Saturday, stop in to the Lions and play some bingo!

I write this as I am back after COVID shutdown of the local bingo. This is truly a fun thing to do on a Saturday night in the otherwise sleepy town of Rockaway Beach. The folks who run the show are very easy going and always helpful to this of us who are amateurs. Snacks are also available.
