Rodrigo’s Mexican Grill

I absolutely love this restaurant! It's my wife's favorite spot for comfort food. They offer great 2-3 item combo meals with plenty of chips and delicious salsa. We usually share a 3 item combo after enjoying the complimentary chips and salsa. I recommend trying the crunchy shredded beef taco with their salsa - it's spectacular. The fried tortilla is soft but crunchy, especially around the edges. The cheese enchilada and chile relleno are also very tasty. They even have a Mexican pizza! We came here after a funeral. I made the arrangements for the large room about a week before. The food was good, not great. The manager came over several times to make sure everything was ok. The waitress could’ve been better. We had one guest who has a gluten allergy. The waitress told her that they “add gluten to the rice”. Look, I’m cool if you don’t know the answer to something, hell I’m not sure what gluten free means, but I know you don’t “add” it like a seasoning. We tried this place after someone suggested we try it. The chips were great, hot and fresh. Unfortunately it was the best part of the meal. I got a cheese enchilada and Chile Relleno, there was more cheese on top than there was inside. The enchilada was thin like as thin as a quesadilla and the chile relleno was like the chile was shredded. The rice and beans were mediocre at best. The food looked great, but looks can be deceiving. My family and I were overcharged, I ordered a margarita for Me and my mom, They had gave us these medium glass cups for the margarita. After eating our bill was over 80 BUCKS!! My son and I only ate kids enchiladas rice and beans, and we got some guacamole on the side that wasn 't even that good, and my mom didn 't even eat, and our bill was OVER 80 BUCKS! Rodrigo's Artesia and Anaheim are both excellent restaurants. You truly do get better service at Rodrigo's then you do some of the high price restaurants. Me and my wife have been going to these two locations for years and we just wanted to give a shout out to the employees we really enjoy the food and we enjoy the staff and we wish you all the very best. Absolutely GARBAGE food. Ordered a steak fajita and it has no salt, no flavor!!! the guacamole was blan with no salt. Chile sauce was pure sauce and not hot. Horrible!!!! This place has become too Americanized instead of remaining Mexicanized!!! First and last time here, I cook better!!

The food was tasty and the Margaritas were great, but even though the restaurant wasn't busy when we got there, we had to request chips and individual salsas for the table. Unfortunately, we ended up waiting a long time for our order while our group of 8 was enjoying their drinks.

Always a good experience, food was good, beef tostada salad was excellent, salsa and chips are top notch and fresh. Service was excellent. I give 5 Stars !
