Due to the measures, we were forced to dine evenings in the hotel's own restaurant. (see separate review Hotel Römerhof Happily, it was absolutely not a ‘must’: We have wonderfully eaten and were wonderfully served for evenings long. A special thanks to...the waiter couple and the slightly older assistant, who have mastered the evening rush multilingual with great friendliness and professionalism, without being intrusive – Chapeau – Well done! About the food: All pasta that we have consumed, were al Dente, the sauces well balanced and as they should taste. What we have eaten in meat chicken there is nothing to complain about and also the pizza tasted well. As my wife drinks no wine, the bottles seemed overpriced to me. There is a Dole from Valais in the open bar, which also does its job quite well. The prices in general are about what we also pay in a restaurant in the city of Bern. The atmosphere: The restaurant has a Wallis chalet style. Despite the open space, the tables are arranged so that everyone has their privacy. We felt very comfortable in a cozy, “alpen-stylish” ambiente.
Three of us ate here. The was a real log fire and live, but not loud, music and the whole atmosphere was congenial. There is a wide choice of dishes and we all enjoyed what we had: mushroom soup, risotto with prawns, grilled whole trout...and a pasta dish. Served with very nice bread and side salad. Price was fine for Switzerland, but we had to wait too long for the risotto. Waitresses were very amicable.
We have had a great experience in the restaurant as we booked the place and an amating dinner cake in advance. We got an amazing chocolate cake prepared fresh by the kitchen. Such a great job, thank you! For dinner we had steak and fish,...both nice prepared, fresh and high quality. We will be back next time again!
This restaurant is nicely decorated with traditional style. The menu offers wide range of meals mainly Italian food but including some regional specialties which are very tasty. Staff is friendly. The salad buffet is also very good. The restaurant has also a large outside terrace.
